Off the Couch: B.B. King serves up the blues in Chattanooga Thursday

LISA DENTON: Barry, I was looking over B.B. King's discography, and I could swear some of his songs are about me. I'd start with "Fine Looking Woman" and "Sweet Little Angel," of course, but I'd probably have to end with "She's a Mean Woman" and "Get Off My Back Woman." My favorite title is "You're Still a Parallelogram," which I believe is a reference to his beloved guitar, Lucille.

BARRY COURTER: "Parallelogram" could reference how you look walking around with only one high heel on.

LISA: Um, that was you.

BARRY: Oh yeah. I never did find that other shoe. You know he also did "Dust My Broom"? Not sure why you would know that, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Blues Boy King is probably best known for "The Thrill Is Gone," but I'm betting he will prove to fans who show up at the Tivoli Thursday night that the thrill is very much still there.

LISA: He's a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and No. 6 on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. That's some top-tier credentials.

He's the second musician of legendary status that we've had at the Tivoli in as many weeks. I caught the recent Don Williams show, and that was a blast. He was very laid-back, but you figure when these guys reach a certain age (Williams is 72, King is 86) that all they have to do is walk onstage to make the crowd happy. One online source says King has logged more than 15,000 performances in 62 years. That's a long time to have the blues.

BARRY: No kidding. Changing subjects: While she is nowhere near those milestones, our own Lauren Alaina continues to add to her numbers. She opened for Jason Aldean Saturday in New Jersey, and this morning at 10 she will sing her Top 30 hit "Georgia Peaches" on "Today."

Oh, and don't forget the Lookouts open the 2012 season at AT&T Park Thursday night as well.

LISA: Yep, they kick off the season against the Tennessee Smokies, and the giveaway that night is a magnet from Bi-Lo listing the schedule for the season.

This year, the Montgomery Biscuits have been edged out as my favorite opposing team, a decision I base solely on the team name. The Carolina Mudcats have moved from North Carolina to Florida and changed their name to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.

Hearing that makes me want to sing like Linda Ronstadt: the Bluuuuuuue Wah-hoooooos.
