Wines and Pearls cancer foundation benefit

Wine and Pearls 2012 is presented by Parkridge Medical Center to benefit The Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, April 27, 6-9 p.m., at The Mill. The event features a cocktail reception, music and silent auction. Funds raised will be used to provide support and information to area residents going through cancer diagnosis and treatment. Pancreatic cancer meeting Tuesday

The Chattanooga Affiliate of Pancreatic Cancer Action Network will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, in Memorial Hospital's community room. Hear reports on a recent training meeting in Chicago and discussion of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Night with the Lookouts on April 28. For information, call Edith Snider at 240-5282.

High heels walk for men benefits Partnership

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes challenges men to walk one mile in high heels on April 14 at Coolidge Park. This event, presented by Parkridge Health System, will benefit Partnership's Sexual Assault Center. The march begins at 10 a.m., registration starts at 9 a.m. at Coolidge Park. Autism workshop

An autism workshop "CALMM Classrooms" will be held Thursday, April 12, from 6 to 8 p.m., at 3097 Broad St. in the Solace Building. Basic diabetes

  • This two-session program is held at Diabetes and Nutrition Center at Memorial Hospital. First session is Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. and provides an overview of diabetes and treatment/prevention of complications. The second session meets April 11.

  • Also, basic diabetes class at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, at Memorial Ooltewah Imaging Center.

Both centers can help you obtain a physician's referral and provide cost information. Registration is required. Call 495-7970.
