Tenn. man allegedly threatens to kill girlfriend with box cutter, holds her hand on stove eye

BLOUNTVILLE - A Kingsport man has been arrested after allegedly placing a box cutter to his girlfriend's throat, threatening to kill her, and holding her hand on a lighted stove eye.

Christopher Vestal, 32, address provided as 701 Lucy Road, has been charged with aggravated assault in the early Monday morning incident. He was arrested later in the day, transported to the Sullivan County Jail and released after posting $15,000 bond.

According to a report at the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, police were called to the residence by Vestal's girlfriend. Vestal was not present when officers arrived, while the woman was transported by EMS to Indian Path Medical Center. She reportedly suffered blistering to the palm of one hand, bruising to her neck and several small cuts.
