Cumberland County shooting victim dies

A Cumberland County, Tenn., man has died after being shot in his home on Thursday night, Chief Investigator Casey Cox reports.

Sheriff's officers were called to 1988 Daysville Road where they found Sammy Baker, 62, suffering gunshot wounds. The next day they charged Carson Norris, 65, with attempted second-degree murder.

Baker was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he died on Sunday, and Norris's charge was upgraded to second-degree murder.

Norris remains in Cumberland County Jail and will appear before court on May 17.
