The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team couldn't get anything going on offense on Friday in a 5-2 loss to Georgia Southern in the winners-bracket final in Boone, N.C.

Junior shortstop Jessica Traxler hit a home run to give UTC an early lead, but the Lady Mocs managed only one other hit against Eagles pitcher Sarah Purvis.

To win the tournament and earn a the SoCon’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, UTC will need to beat either College of Charleston or Elon in the losers bracket final at 11 this morning and then get two straight wins over the Eagles this afternoon.
