CLASS

SATURDAY: Master Gardeners of Hamilton County will offer a series of classes at 2:30 p.m. on container gardening for urban settings and small spaces. Classes will be held at the Chattanooga Public Library's 11th Street plaza (on the Broad Street corner). Dates and topics are: Saturday: Herbs.; May 19: Vegetables; May 26: Spillers, Fillers & Thrillers (flowers).

MEETING

MONDAY: Greenthumb Garden Club, 7 p.m., Collegedale City Hall. Dave Rhyne from Sunshine Hollow Gardens near Riceville, Tenn., will give a PowerPoint presentation on daylilies and hostas. Free. 236-5598.

Volunteer opportunity

Master Gardeners will soon need community volunteers to install, water and maintain new gardens at the Chattanooga Public Library downtown. To find out more about upcoming library landscaping opportunities, email Melissa Wehman at pinkdaylily@aol.com.
