Mobile BayBears beat Chattanooga Lookouts 6-1 in baseball

MOBILE, Ala. -- The Mobile BayBears defeated the Chattanooga Lookouts 6-1 in Southern League baseball Friday night.

Mobile starting pitcher Trevor Bauer, the No. 1 prospect in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, struck out nine Chattanooga batters in seven innings while allowing one run.

The Lookouts (15-21) took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Blake Smith's double to right field that scored Pedro Baez, but the BayBears went ahead 2-1 in the fourth when Wladimir Sutil drew a leadoff walk and Matt Davidson followed with a home run to left.

Mobile scored three in the sixth to make the margin 5-1, with the big blow being Yozy Arbelo's double to right that scored Marc Krauss and Alfredo Marte.

Game two of a five-game series is tonight at 8:05 EDT. Matt Magill (2-2, 3.77 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Tyler Skaggs (1-2, 3.06) scheduled for the BayBears.
