CALHOUN, Ga. -- The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a $16.8 million contract for an Interstate 75 interchange project at Union Grove Road in Gordon County, a news release states.

The work includes construction of an interchange, a bridge and approaches on Union Grove Road over I-75 and realignment of Johnson Lake/Belwood Road.

Work is expected to be complete by the end of September 2014, the release states.
