A Ringgold, Ga., attorney was arrested after cocaine and methamphetamine were found inside her home, according to police.

Ashley Davis Grooms, 35, was arrested last week after parole officers called police to search the home as they were checking on Grooms' husband, Sean, who is on parole, a Catoosa County Sheriff's Office report shows.

Ashley Grooms, who has her own law firm in downtown Ringgold, was charged with two counts of possession of schedule II drugs and possession of tools for the commission of a crime, which was a pipe used for smoking meth, reports show.

Her 32-year-old husband was charged with three counts of possession of schedule II drugs and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Ashley Grooms was released from jail on her own recognizance by Superior Court Judge Brian House, according to sheriff's office Capt. Scott Jordan.

Records show that Sean Grooms still is in the Catoosa County Jail on a $17,000 bond. He also violated parole for a previous conviction of vehicular homicide, burglary and forgery, records show.

Ashley Grooms didn't return calls seeking comment.

She has been licensed to practice law since 2003, Georgia State Bar records show. She has no public disciplinary record and is in good standing with the state bar.

Georgia rules of professional conduct show the state bar can discipline an attorney after a felony conviction or after a misdemeanor conviction involving moral conduct related to practicing law.
