MOBILE, Ala. -- The Chattanooga Lookouts closed out their Southern League baseball series with the BayBears by winning 9-4 on Tuesday, giving the visitors three wins in the five games.

Chattanooga got a solo home run to right field by Matt Wallach in the second inning and a two-run homer to right by Blake Smith in the seventh.

Mobile starting pitcher Brett Lorin was his own worst enemy, committing two throwing errors in the first inning that led to two Lookouts runs. The Lookouts (18-22) loaded the bases in the third inning and scored two more runs, taking a 5-2 lead, when Lorin hit Pedro Baez and threw a wild pitch.

Game one of a five-game Lookouts home series against Huntsville at AT&T Field is Thursday night at 7:15. Ethan Martin (4-0, 2.81 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for Chattanooga.

• Lookouts outfielder Kyle Russell, who was hitting .255 with two homers and nine RBIs in 27 games, was promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque. Replacing him on the roster is outfielder Brahiam Maldonado, who played in 10 Double-A games earlier this season with the Mississippi Braves but hit just .094.
