Strangers aiding woman, 78, facing eviction

STRAWBERRY PLAINS — Offers have come flooding in from Good Samaritans offering to help 78-year-old Mary Cate Jones save her rural Strawberry Plains home of 56 years.

Jones, who defaulted on a $60,000 loan that she took out on the house and five acres in 2007, is set to be evicted on June 15 from the home that she built along with her late husband, Kenneth Jones, in 1956.
