Chattanooga police investigate teen’s death

Chattanooga police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old who died after he struck his head when he fell from riding on the hood of a car Sunday night.

The teen and a 21-year-old were riding on the hood of the vehicle in the old Kmart parking lot at 680 Signal Mountain Road. The car was being operated by 19-year-old Stephanie Corbitt. Corbitt made a sharp turn causing the teen to fall off and strike his head on the asphalt.

The teen was transported to a hospital where he died.

Charges are pending.
