Red Bank Police investigating early morning home invasion

Red Bank Police are searching for three men they say invaded a couple’s apartment early this morning, bound and gagged the husband, and ransacked the home before making off with electronics and money.

John and Jennifer Hendrix, who live in an apartment on Valley View Avenue, told police John Hendrix answered his door after hearing someone knocking on it around 4 a.m. Monday morning.

After John Hendrix opened the door, he was met by three masked and gloved African-American men — one who was armed with a shotgun, said Red Bank Police Chief Tim Christol.

The men bound and gagged John Hendrix and ordered Jennifer Hendrix to stay lying face down on her bed while the men ransacked the home and fled with cash, credit cards, electronics and other personal items, Christol said.

Neither reported any injuries as a result of the incident, said Christol.

Red Bank detectives are working with surrounding agencies and are following several leads in the investigation, Christol said.
