Walker County Sheriff's Office employee charged with theft

LAFAYETTE, Ga. -- A Walker County Sheriff's Office employee was arrested and charged with 11 counts of felony theft Thursday after a GBI investigation into the theft of guns from the sheriff's office property room, according to a news release.

Thomas Scott Davis, 39, had been in charge of the property room for about three years. There is no evidence that Davis sold any of the guns, which were designated for destruction or judicial sale, according to a news release.

Davis was released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
