Chattanooga and Red Bank police are searching for suspects in two home invasions early Monday.
The first was reported on Lake Resort Drive around 3 a.m., according to Chattanooga police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.
Three black men reportedly forced their way into a home and at least one of them had a handgun, Hartwig said. A man and woman in the home were bound and gagged while the intruders stole money, he said.
Red Bank police are searching for three men they say invaded a couple's Valley View Avenue apartment.
John Hendrix told police he opened his door after hearing knocking about 4 a.m., Red Bank Police Chief Tim Christol said. Hendrix was met by three masked and gloved black men -- one who was armed with a shotgun, Christol said.
The men bound and gagged Hendrix and ordered his wife, Jennifer, to lie face down on a bed while they ransacked the home, then fled with cash, credit cards, electronics and other items, Christol said.
Neither couple reported any injuries, Christol and Hartwig said.
Hartwig could not confirm whether the incidents were related, but said investigators from surrounding agencies are partnering to follow several leads.
