Dare to dream, Mr. Vice President.

From the mouth of Vice President Joe Biden to an audience in Ohio: "I get tired of being called a middle-class Joe, like somehow I'm just good old Joe and, oh, I don't dream."

And from the website of The Weekly Standard magazine: "[A] reliable real estate web site ... estimates the worth of Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home ... to be a cool $2,856,950. (This does not appear to include the cottage on the Biden estate, which the vice president rents out to the Secret Service for more than $12,000 per year.)"

Meanwhile, the value of Biden's and wife Jill Biden's reported assets, according to Bloomberg, is somewhere between $239,000 and $866,000.

Undaunted by his transparently other-than-blue-collar standing, Biden lamented in his Ohio stemwinder: "I don't think these guys understand us. ... What do they think we think in our houses? We're like the rich guys: We have dreams, we have aspirations."

More to the point, Mr. Vice President, you have money. And that's OK.

But it's baffling trying to figure out exactly what "we" you are talking about. Have you suddenly been appointed the Norma Rae of the federal government? Are you bucking to play Tom Joad in a remake of "The Grapes of Wrath?"

And who in his right mind keeps calling you "middle-class Joe?" Warren Buffett?

Come hang out in Chattanooga for a week. We'll be nice to you. Really.

And we promise nobody will ever think to label you middle class.
