Update on morning Memorial Day shootings in Chattanooga

Chattanooga Police are investigating two separate Memorial Day shootings.

Police responded to the first shooting about 1 a.m. at 2208 Glass St.

Officer Nathan Hartwig said a group of men physically assaulted 51-year-old Gregory Joiner, who then pulled a gun and shot 26-year-old Gerard Allen.

Both men were taken to a hospital for treatment and are listed in stable condition.

Hartwig said charges could be filed pending an investigation.

Police responded to a separate shooting about 6:15 a.m. at 2217 East 28th St., where they found two victims suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to a hospital for treatment and are in stable condition, Hartwig said.

Police have a suspect in custody and charges are pending an investigation. The names of the suspect and the victims have not yet been released.
