Register for driving classes

The AARP Driver Safety Program is saluting military veterans and their families by offering them two, free, AARP Driver Safety classes in November.

The class is a refresher course for drivers ages 50 and older. A certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the eight-hour course. Some auto insurance companies offer discounts for drivers who have completed the course; check with your company for eligibility.

A class is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at Garden Plaza of Greenbriar Cove, 4586 Forsythia Way in Collegedale.

A second class is scheduled at the Eastgate Senior Center, inside Eastgate Town Center, 5600 Brainerd Road, on Thursday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost at either class for AARP members who are not veterans is $12, or $14 for nonmembers. Call 544-1509 to register.
