Andraè McGary posts early lead

With 15,219 reported votes, Democrat Andraè McGary, the 33-year-old city councilman running for State Senate, has an early lead in the District 10 race. His opponent, the 64-year-old Republican Todd Gardenhire, trails with 11,856 reported votes. The winner will represent portions of Bradley and Hamilton counties, in a seat vacated by State Sen. Andy Berke, who’s announced his bid to run for Chattanooga mayor.
