Incumbent U.S. Rep. Chuck Fleischmann pulled ahead of challengers Matthew Deniston and Mary Headrick in Tennessee’s third district, as the first Tennessee precincts reported in. Fleischmann, a republican, was up by 60 percent, to Headrick’s 37 percent, according to unofficial Tennessee Department of State figures.

Fleischmann led 106,971 votes to 66,296 votes just before 9:30 p.m.

Fleischmann is not expected to lose the seat, which was contested during the primary by former dairy magnate Scottie Mayfield and Weston Wamp, son of former U.S. Rep Zach Wamp.
