about Clay Bennett...
The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Who does he blame now?
Cool. Demonize the wealthy.
Ha Ha Ha Ha hahahahahahaha, Tu Tu, Big Ridge Idiot, and other assorted right wing wackos. Had to check in and make sure none of you have resorted to using your belts for neck ties. Electrical cord would work better. It's all down hill from here, you have no hope. Demographics and common sense will continue to pummel you into the ground til you are buried with the rest of the relics in this world.
FOUR MORE YEARS, I hope you all suffer and complain every minute. I know we can count on you.
Again
Ha Ha Ha Ha hahahahahaha
GameOn, the Republicans are planning on blaming Sandy!
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/11/republicans-romney-hurricane-sandy.php
Yeah Jack, it's demonizing to smile when your side wins. It's tough being a right wing nut tonight.
I can take it Dad. Just sad to see our nation has evolved into a nation of teat suckers..Does not bode well for our future.
Mr. Bennett, you have drawn an exceptional and excellent depiction of the faces across America tonight. It's as if you snapped a photo.
The Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Karl Rove, and, of course, Mitt Romney have just learned that not everything can be bought.
As for Akin and Mourdock.... well, we just shut that whole thing down, didn't we sisters?
Protests about the rich being demonized from the crowd that demonized the poor, and are doing so right now?
How do you contain that contradiction?
But Mitt's got plenty of other outraged supporters around.
I would love to see the looks on the faces of the Koch Brothers and Karl Rove right now.
wrong canary: You and you ilk have been bought by the promise of bigger gubment, more entitlements, and more public assistance. Be proud. Stay up late celebrating. Most of you mopes don't have jobs to go to anyway.
Mitt's shut out the press pool and is refusing to allow them in.
Jack_Troll,
You're the only teat sucker here. You suckle from the GOP teat like Romulus suckled from the Mother Wolf.
You never get any more intelligent or nuanced. It's the same Right-wing bull from you, moron.
What big government? What entitlements? What public assistance? You mean the programs we already have in place? They are offered to you as well, genius.
Do you work? :-)
Go back to your gubment job, little one. You're annoying and not old enough to have a valid opinion.
That's what Mitt's suite must look like right about now. He's costing the taxpayers money for his Secret Service detail. He should show some class and get the hell out of our faces.
Mitt still not conceding Ohio, even tho it don't matter. what a pr*ck!
Mitt said he was running for America. It's time he stops running - for America.
1460 Days to Go!
Tick Tock Tick Tock!
THATS 3 SUPREME COURT JUSTICES you redneck bozos. Ha Ha Ha Ha Hahahahahaha.
JackTroll,
It stings doesn't it?! And it appears my opinion went a little further than yours on this day. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!
Fat Jack_... keep using the 'word' gubment, it gets more creative every time you use it.
God, it must suck for you, being so wrong and out of touch. You really thought you were going to win. LOL
The Lord has answered our prayers to elect the right person as POTUS. Now we ask everyone to pray for TU_ and Jack_. So they may have the knowledge, courage, and strength to stop dating farm animals!!
Jack_Dennis wrote: "Most of you mopes don't have jobs to go to anyway."
This...coming from a man who apparently has no job either. You start posting at around 8-9 am in the morning, all the way until around 1 am every single day of the week.
You're totally pathetic.
Marijuana is completely legal in Washington and Colorado.
Repugnants lose Senate seats.
Elizabeth Warren is in the SENATE
Happy Happy Happy
Ha Ha HA hahahahahahha
Hey Jack_Mehoff, are you living off that gubment subsidized socialized pension plan, otherwise known as Social Security?
Hey OTS, don't forget that the two legitimate rape Senate candidates in Indiana and Missouri also got their a$$es handed to them. All is right with the universe tonight.
Elizabeth Warren holds great promise for 2016...all the right qualities.
What will the resident trolls have to post about now?
Many things can be said about the results of yesterday's election, but the one thing that it says to me, is that every time that factions of the Republican Party try to go too far, they get slapped back across that line.
Jacks boyfriend called him to bed. He has been a bad boy and must be punished. Goodnight Jack.
I think we should celebrate by nominating a transsexual Supreme Court Justice! Whaddya think, Jack_ Denise?
Hey! The pouter is gonna finally concede! Maybe he'll do it to an empty chair!
mymy was so sure that Mitt and Paul were going to win. What will she post this morning?
Tick tock, tick tock....
The Repubs efforts to make Pres. Obama a "one term president" have failed. Now, how about them doing the job they've been elected to do? Get this country back on track
The witch called it:
Ann Coulter on 2012 GOP Field: If Christie Doesn't Run, Romney Will be Nominated and Lose to Obama by FreedomsLighthouse
Does this mean that Mormons are once again a CULT ?????
Not quite as classy as John McCain's speech but not bad.
Bugger. I bet Mitt's coming back to Massachusetts.
:(
Obama just sent me an e-mail thanking me for my support and he is about to give his acceptance speech.
you poor, misguided bunch of losers. sad for you, really.

I thought he was total class with that speech. I had the fleeting thought, that had the man giving that concession speech ran for President, he might have won.

My dear....he's IN Massachusetts now. I guess he won't be leaving.

I don't imagine that you have a spouse. You seem to live to post negative commentary all day long. You probably sleep alone.
But, in the off-chance you do share the bed with another human being, why don't you go hop in bed, pull the covers real tight, and let go with a big fart, just to let them know how much you love them.
RANDOM ELECTION NIGHT OBSERVATIONS
GREAT POST CANARY! Some of the undecided Colorado voters were professional and career minded businesswomen. The Obama campaign appealed to those voters by showing stupid republican comments made by stupid republican senatorial candidates. Those female voters broke for the President and Obama carried the state.
In Colorado and Nevada, Latino voters went 90% for Obama.
Four years ago Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell promised to make Obama a one-term president.
What’s he promising this year?
Mitt was the wrong guy to sell working class voters on the virtues of free market capitalism. From his untold millions in offshore tax shelters to his refusing to release more than a couple of tax returns, he never looked comfortable in those starched and pressed dungarees.
Romney lost. Get over it.
@Jack- Me and my "ilk"? Projecting much? If you are, as I assume, living in the south, then statistically YOU are more likely than I am to be collecting "entitlements". The Tax Foundation issued map of the states illustrating the highest and lowest percentage of people who don’t pay income taxes. The biggest non-paying states are (with the exception of Florida and New Mexico) solid red states. Hmm, it seems that republican policies may not be working out so well for "y'all". http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/09/18/mitt-romney-will-probably-get-95-electoral-votes-from-moocher-states-obama-will-probably-get-5/

Some May Suffer From Post-Election Depression
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — "Once the election results are in, you might find yourself very happy or very disappointed, depending on the outcome."
"It may be difficult to mask how you are feeling when you are around your co-workers or people with whom you’d rather not talk politics."
"Dr. Linda Reiss, a psychologist in Minneapolis, said there will likely be some people who will experience a bit of post-election depression. In some cases, it extends beyond disappointment over the election results."
"Anger over a candidate or an issue winning or losing can subconsciously trigger other emotions that have been buried, some deep disappointment that occurred when we were much younger or even when we were children. The day after the election can remind us of how we felt at other times in our lives when we felt those close to us where not making rational decisions."

You fools lost tonite. As did the nation. You're just too stupid to see it.
Medical Marijuana in Mass. Same sex marriage in Maine. Same sex marriage in Maryland. Abortion defunding in Florida loses.
The sky is falling, The sky is falling.
and THREE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES.
It's a 3 blunt night.
JackTroll,
You're in loser denial, bro. You mad? LMAO!
You're just too ignorant to understand. You and your Wingnut butt-buddies lost tonight, dumbass. Get over it.
2008 will be remembered as the beginning of the end of this country. Even if Romney was elected it would have only slowed our demise. Move over Greece, here we come.
By the way, I am going to use a variation of a quote from the ugliest first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt. Maybe in history. Michele said, "For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m really proud of my country, and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change."
Well, for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country. Any country that would put a piss ant like Obama as head of state once, not to mention twice, is almost too stupid to exist. I guess I should say that only 50% are that stupid.
I hope the 47% of freeloaders are happy. They can continue their perpetual spring break because there is no chance of a reduction in unemployment or economic improvement.
Basically, the inmates are still in charge of the asylum. It is the job of Republicans in congress to BLOCK EVERYTHING President Piss Ant WANTS TO DO. We might not be able to take the asylum back but we can sure as hell lock the gate. Laugh it up while you can. I hope you liberal imbeciles like gridlock.
I am going to spend my time making money and hoarding it for the inevitable economic armegeddon. Did you imbeciles ever see "Grapes of Wrath," well you all are the poor Okies starving to death. You can't hurt the rich, but they sure as hell can hurt you.
By the way, did you see how many people the rich guy employed? Bennett is such an idiot. He made our argument for us.
Hey Timbo. Can we offer you a little cheddar to go with your never ending whine. It sounds like you have no good reason to live anymore. The America in your mind collapsed for lack of space.
timbo,
Your ignorance is palpable.
The only way Bennett made your argument is if you were advocating serfdom and a plutocracy. Oh wait, Mitt Romney was advocating that and you bought it like a good, little Republican. You say liberals demonize the rich. You and your Wingnut brethren demonize everyone else. I wouldn't consider us even.
You lost. Sit back and watch things improve. Then bitch and moan about it while acting like things got worse. The mind of a Republican is a not a vessel to be filled but a flaming bag of dog feces waiting on your doormat.
Jack_Dennis wrote: "You fools lost tonite. As did the nation. You're just too stupid to see it."
I really hate doing this, but you earned it...
Waaaaah...waaaaaaaaaah.....sniffle.....sniffle......waaaah!!!
Looks like the Democrats picked up 5 House seats.
The current Republican program has lost the Presidency, lost the Senate, made no gains in the House, and has likely lost one or more Supreme Court Justices.
An obstructive House of Representatives - while a bit of a pain - will eventually make the GOP entirely irrelevant.
Engage or pout.
Either way, on balance, it will be good for the country.
Timbo wrote: "2008 will be remembered as the beginning of the end of this country. Even if Romney was elected it would have only slowed our demise. Move over Greece, here we come."
Flap, flap, flap those wings Chicken Little.
"By the way, I am going to use a variation of a quote from the ugliest first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt. Maybe in history."
How quaint. You can't help it though. You're a Republican cheerleader. Your womenfolk might be pretty on the outside, but then they open their mouths. Case in point: Ann Coulter -- who will forever remain an unmarried maiden the rest of her life.
I find the First Lady quite attractive, inside and out.
"Well, for the first time in my life I am ashamed of my country. Any country that would put a piss ant like Obama as head of state once, not to mention twice, is almost too stupid to exist. I guess I should say that only 50% are that stupid."
It's about time that some of you people learned that the day that rich, white men rule the roost in this nation, is over...forever.
Further, it's about time that you rich, white men learned to relate to those who are not rich or white. That or you will learn to live with a future filled with disappointment.
"I hope the 47% of freeloaders are happy. They can continue their perpetual spring break because there is no chance of a reduction in unemployment or economic improvement."
Thank you Mitt Romney Junior. You're wrong. This nation will continue to recover with or without the cooperation of the Republicans.
"Basically, the inmates are still in charge of the asylum."
And we've got the keys to the cells you would contain us to and the chains that you would shackle us with.
"It is the job of Republicans in congress to BLOCK EVERYTHING President Piss Ant WANTS TO DO."
That tried tactic is why you are living with disappointment this very night.
"We might not be able to take the asylum back but we can sure as hell lock the gate. Laugh it up while you can. I hope you liberal imbeciles like gridlock."
Oh I think there are more than a few Republicans in Congress that know that if they lock things up this next session, that they can kiss their political futures goodbye permanently.
I'll even bet that 'ole Mitch McConnell starts signing a different tune.
"I am going to spend my time making money and hoarding it for the inevitable economic armegeddon."
Flap, flap, flap those wings Chicken Little.
miraweb, did you take note of what happened in New Hampshire tonight?
Not only did the President carry that state.
In every single other race, the Democratic candidate was elected, including those running for state elections...AND every single candidate elected...was female.
Jack_Dennis said... you fools lost tonight, just what planet did you win on.
I had not seen the NH results. Wonderful!

WANGO-Z-TANGO...UH-OH!
Can you not celebrate the moment with a little class? Shame on you!!!
I feel a great sadness for my country and the direction it is going.
The problems will continue to be the economy/jobs/foreign policy/direction of country/National Security here/abroad and the growing debt etc. plus what else is to come. There will be plenty.
Cheer up mymy. There is now an openly Lesbian Senator and that's proof that you have upward mobility and hope. You too, can be somebody.
At least that post-election depression won't drop your insurance as a pre-existing condition.
We survived the Bush debacle.
All of you will make it through this.
mymy wrote: "Can you not celebrate the moment with a little class? Shame on you!!!"
After the way you have treated people in here for the past few months? You've got a lot of nerve calling people down for a thing.
"I feel a great sadness for my country and the direction it is going."
You'll be alright.
"The problems will continue to be the economy/jobs/foreign policy/direction of country/National Security here/abroad and the growing debt etc. plus what else is to come. There will be plenty."
Okey dokey....you be sure to keep us posted.
It just occurred to me...Big Bird is safe.
Hooray!!!
At last it is over. Now if congress and the president will work as hard at doing their jobs as they did campaigning things should not get a lot worse. As often stated, I don't care who wins and I don't care if my vote for Gary Johnson was wasted. I will make good money on individual stocks which are not the same as the indexes that make the news but are like mining gold with plenty of nuggets around. I know Obama said the fiscal cliff was not going to happen. Again, who cares, the country may be better off if the current rates all expire. The economy will do what it is going to do in spite of who is POTUS, not because of who. I still think Obama is an economic idiot and a Pee poor leader that will actually have little affect on me unless he becomes so powerful he is able to do all he desires to do. Romney would not have had the promised impact either since congress, the fly in the ointment, fulfills their checks and balances role by default. The countries default, if it occurs, will be caused by congress not the president.
Those voting for Romney are disapointed now but those voting for Obama will be disapointed many times for four years while those supporting Romney can say I told you. A Romney win would have done the same for Obama's backers with them able to repeatedly say I told you to Romney supporters.
Stocks. Plan on a weaker dollar and rising prices in many commodities with coal stocks likely seeing a major down trend.
The best outcome for a bad situation!!
Hope he does better in his second term !
Maybe motivate the repubs to get their act together!

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said: “To the extent he wants to move to the political center, which is where the work gets done in a divided government, we’ll be there to meet him half way."
That's a much different tone from 4 years ago when he said: "The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."
They are smiling for a variety of reasons -- in no particular order.
Master will soon go broke
They got their revenge
They will soon be unemployed
The gov't will take care of them
No need to work as unskilled labor anymore
They are now part of the lowest common denominator
Funnest thing I saw last night was right before Romney's concession CNN ran the Hungarian billinaire's ad.
rolando, what are you even talking about? In the eight years I've been reading these boards it seems like you make less and less sense each day.
The good news is the better candidate won and the race is over. The bad news is it's probably back to business as usual for the House... And definitely back to business as usual in the TFP comments section.
The saddest part of this election is that we've just given Rush four more years of open-mike prosperity from the gullible right-wingers.
I have held out as long as I can and now that I know what the future holds 38 employees whose average salaries and hourly wages are $42,000.00 per year will be loosing their jobs in the next 6 weeks.
This was a race that the GOP could have won, if they didn't claim to have a monopoly on patriotism, if they did not claim to "take America back" (from who?) that they did not claim to be for Judeo-Christian values (implying that liberals are not). I have no problem with a party that wants to approach the economy or foreign relations in different ways (I may not agree or vote for them) but I am pretty tired of being told in so many ways that if I am not conservative and not Christian that I am not American. I suspect that I am not alone.
For the past several months, I've kept less of an eye on this forum. When I did read it, I saw many posts declaring Obama would lose the election.
Rather than respond here, I did something else. I volunteered time at Obama for America and called people in swing states around the country and spoke to them and encouraged them to vote. It was clear months ago that this country was divided and the key to victory was not changing the minds of others but mobilizing the base.
This was done by thousands of people across the United States.
However, as we neared the end, more and more potential voters said they were turned off by Romney's ever shifting positions. He was losing voters because he didn't have enough specifics and because he was making promises that didn't add up.
So Jack, I am going back to my job today. I'm fortunate enough to be in the 1%. And today, I don't know if any of my hundreds of phone calls made a difference, but I know it made more of a difference than sitting in front of a computer taking pot shots at my fellow Americans.
I hope this election will dull the hubris of conservatives who said they would not work with this President. Now that they have failed in their SOLE goal of making him a one turn president, perhaps they will except his hand as it reaches across he aisle and they will work with the president for the good of their country rather than the good of their party.
joneses said... "I have held out as long as I can and now that I know what the future holds 38 employees whose average salaries and hourly wages are $42,000.00 per year will be loosing their jobs in the next 6 weeks."
Uh oh! joneses is laying off! That's bad news for pawn shops, but good news for the police.
o.k. all you losers, it's time to grab your guns and bibles and head back inside your caves. if's comforting to know the majority of this country doesn't want to take us back to the dark ages, maybe Tennessee will catch up with the 21st century next century.
Bip boop beep beep boop bip boop. Rinng rinng click, "Hello RNC headquarters. Timbo speaking."
"Hi I'd like to know where the Romney victory party is tonight."
"Um there isn't any victory party."
"EX-ACT-LY! Ah ha ha ha. Click."
Looked like Mitt didn't get the roars of disapproval he was hoping for in his concession speech. He passed on the incumbent (ouch!) graceful good wishes to the President, but not until he had his little pout fest, keeping his own backers waiting. Those poor saps knew it was game, set, match from early on, but they still had to wait it out while Romney pouted and Karl Rove bailed water. Pathetic, really.
Bend over and butter that thing, big Daddy Obama is getting ready to work his will on your arse.
The end is here at last. We now have four years, not three, to see who is right. Obama will not have to campaign in year four. We need to write or call congress and insist he has the best security possible and insist he avoid any unnecessary danger. We need to pray for his good health. May heaven forbid that Biden have to become president.
Romney's concession speech was very good, he did not appear to be the terrible person the negative ads painted. I hope he will go on a well deserved vacation in seclusion, avoid the press, be quiet and let the politicians continue their people screwing.
I rather see the tax rates expire than to continue with the uncertainty of an extension for a while longer. In my opinon the uncertainty is as damaging to the economy as some say allowing them to expire would be.
Hey lkeithlu, you're not!
Amazing at some of the incredibly classless comments around here.
That's disgusting, JR, and it has been flagged.
The results of the congressional election is proof the voting public does not have the intelligence to understand the value to those with below average incomes of the fair tax proposals. So, the smaller number above the average, the wealthy and politicians will continue abusing the large number below the average income line.
It would require more education than they are able to absorb and to decide for themselves instead of being manipulated by the media and politicians.
alprova...you and the rest of these liberal imbeciles don't get it. Obama used a scorched earth, win at all costs strategy by trying to make a good man into a monster. People like you are so immature that you don't even know how this country works. Demonizing the other side does not foster cooperation.
Basically democrats are a northern state, Pacific cost party which rules because of the large population centers. The rest of the country is RED. Republicans control the house and increased their majority. They hold the purse strings.
If they block President Piss Ant, and become more conservative, 2010 will happen all over again in 2014. The Republican lost to the piss ant because they ran two liberal Republicans in a row. McCain and Romney obviously didn't work.
Your analysis of a socialist president squeaking by because he offered free stuff to half the population was some kind of mandate is ludicrous. He will get nothing done and should be blocked.
Unruly children like you and your little friends on this page might think you have won but they are just your immature need to gloat and trash talk. You and the Democrats have institutionalized stupidity.
Joneses is going to fire 38 employee's because Obama won?? Once again I call him out as a ANTIAMERICAN COWARD!
Looks like Romney lost w/more grace and class than some of his advocates on here!!
I think the best man won BUT i ain't gonna celebrate till he starts walkin the walk!
He damn sure didn't do in in his first term!
The heading on breitbart this morning "Courage for the long war head". The war that Mr. Obama is waging against the working people of America is tearing this country apart. Free everything for people who want free everything in exchange for votes only makes slaves of those who work and manage their own lives.
And Mr. Obama still has to answer for Benghazi. That alone will cripple him as he begins his second term.
Get over yourself Timbo. The GOP lost because they only had ultraconservative crazies as candidates. (Bachmann? Gingrich? Santorum?) Romney had to change his story to win the primary and change it back to win the election; that did not go unnoticed. If the GOP platform better reflected the attitudes of Americans and could attract a decent candidate, heck, even I'd vote GOP. As long as the GOP is a puppet whose strings are yanked by the religious right and the tea party they will never win a national election.

No class by either side or sportsmanship candidates to be found here Jesse. The winners and losers would be penalized in the NFL for unsportsmanship like conduct. Some may be ejected from the game.
"I have held out as long as I can and now that I know what the future holds 38 employees whose average salaries and hourly wages are $42,000.00 per year will be loosing their jobs in the next 6 weeks."
Francis, if your business is six weeks from going under, it is due to something other than who was elected President last night.
Were you under the impression that a Mitt Romney win would suddenly fill the pockets of sports fans with money enough to spend the big bucks needed to save your memorabilia business?
The stock markets may see a significant drop today. It is possible and likely there will be a long slow slide down. Those with mutual funds in a 401K or IRA may need to be cautious. Should the markets drop there are those that will make a fortune, primarily hedge fund managers selling short individual stocks.
Here's another unintended consequence -- untold numbers of illegal Mexicans [in the tens of millions] becoming legal thru presidential fiat.
All of those non-Latino faces [including Clay's drawn ones] working menial jobs will become browner [sadly, the sole black one will go] -- they work for minimum wage, you know. That includes all those coveted VW/Amazon jobs.
There is a reason VW Group built their new Audi plant in Mexico, not next to "our" VW plant.
All those wages earned here will not be spent here but will go to Mexico to be spent. Besides, they buy here from fellow-Mexicans now, when they can.
Sorry about that, business owners.
“I’m so glad we had that storm last week. ‘Cause I think the storm was one of those things. No. Politically, I should say. Not in terms of hurting people. The storm brought in possibilities for good politics.” - Chris Matthews
kiethLU said: "As long as the GOP is a puppet whose strings are yanked by the religious right and the tea party they will never win a national election." So Lu, you think the religious right picked Romney? Really? McCain? Why not Santorum? Once again, Lu, you need to think before you plink.
sd said, "rolando, what are you even talking about?"
The smiling faces Clay drew, sd. What else? The unskilled workers just haven't realized what just happened to them. Their jobs -- few as they are -- depend on the boss staying wealthy...which will soon end.
From Wiki -- In a TV interview for Thames TV This Week on Feb. 5, 1976, Prime Minister Thatcher said, "...Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They [socialists] always run out of other people's money. It's quite a characteristic of them."
... and in other news, Plugs remains one heartbeat away...
shudder
JonRoss,
If Obama has to answer for Benghazi, then Bush has to answer for Afghanistan, Iraq, Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib, and where all those weapons of mass destruction went.
Republicans are more worried about 4 American deaths in Libya than the 8,000+ American deaths in the Bush wars of Afghanistan and Iraq.
You're ignorant and highly illogical.
So Lu, you think the religious right picked Romney? Really? McCain? Why not Santorum?
Romney? Yes. After it became clear that Santorum, et al were too extreme. Romney had no choice but to act like a conservative for them, then switch to moderate after the primary. McCain? No. But his chances were shot when they pushed him towards Palin.
rolando,
"All those wages earned here will not be spent here but will go to Mexico to be spent. Besides, they buy here from fellow-Mexicans now, when they can."
Explain how making people citizens of the United States will cause these people to spend their money in Mexico.
Unskilled workers jobs don't depend on the boss staying wealthy. It's difficult to find a career doing unskilled labor. Those jobs come and go. You might know that if you had ever worked one.
The wealthy will continue to be wealthy. If you believe otherwise, you're dumber than you put on.
That overused Margaret Thatcher quote is meaningless. Taxes aren't socialist. Again, if you believe otherwise, you're dumber than you put on.
Timbo wrote: "alprova...you and the rest of these liberal imbeciles don't get it. Obama used a scorched earth, win at all costs strategy by trying to make a good man into a monster."
With what little respect you deserve, Mitt Romney was his own worst enemy. He may well be a good man, and in fact I believe he is, but that doesn't make him fit to lead a nation.
The man was dedicated to the proposition of more tax cuts for the wealthy. He wanted to expand military spending, rather than to reign in the most expensive item of spending that this nation has ever known. And worst of all, he had planned to walk on the backs of the people who truly need more money in their pockets, if our economy is going to ever have a chance to grow.
"People like you are so immature that you don't even know how this country works."
You're certainly free to hold whatever opinion you want of other people, but the simple fact is that you are for some of the same policies that derailed this nation to start with.
Most people knew that Mitt's plans were pure bunk.
"Demonizing the other side does not foster cooperation."
For some strange reason, there are people on this planet who seem to forget that no President who has ever led this nation, has undergone more character attacks than Barack Obama has, and probably will still endure for the next four years.
Geez Louise...Mitt and Paul lied repeatedly on that campaign trail or are you completely blind to that fact?
"Basically democrats are a northern state, Pacific cost party which rules because of the large population centers. The rest of the country is RED. Republicans control the house and increased their majority. They hold the purse strings."
So what? If they want to hold onto that shred of power that they did, they had better change their attitudes, for the simple fact is that they were all hit upside the head with a two-by-four last night.
"If they block President Piss Ant, and become more conservative, 2010 will happen all over again in 2014. The Republican lost to the piss ant because they ran two liberal Republicans in a row. McCain and Romney obviously didn't work."
This is where you remain ignorant. Conservatives have always been and will forever remain a minority people in this nation. Every single time that you folks attempt to step over that center line with your religious principles, you get smacked back.
(To be continued)
(Continued)
"Your analysis of a socialist president squeaking by because he offered free stuff to half the population was some kind of mandate is ludicrous. He will get nothing done and should be blocked."
Uh...Sir, the above analysis you refer to above did not come from me. It sounds like something that you machined in that little pea brain of your own.
President Obama was elected to a second term because the man has demonstrated to the majority of this nation's people that he is for seeing to it that all people in this nation have a more level playing field.
The run that those at the top of the food chain have enjoyed in plundering the pockets of the middle class is over.
"Unruly children like you and your little friends on this page might think you have won but they are just your immature need to gloat and trash talk. You and the Democrats have institutionalized stupidity."
What can I state other than the fact is that you and your ilk were outvoted last night? It's quite apparent that you had your own selfish reasons for wanting to see Mitt Romney elected. Justify it in your mind the best way you can to ease your pain.
Democrats didn't reelect President Obama. We had a great deal of help from those who have rejected the Conservative and Tea Party agendas. The people of this nation rejected the efforts by Republicans to keep certain people from the polls.
Better luck in the future.
Well, at least Vladimir is happy now. So is Fidel, and Hugo Chavez. Oh, and Hamas. And Easy, dude_, noogs, backwater, and all the other teat sucking leftist on this forum. Y'all are a contemptible lot. Great job, comrades.
JackTroll,
I'm reveling in your anguish. :-)
Obama's Complete Victory Speech: Obama Wins the 2012 Election by TheNewYorkTimes
Well, congratulations Leftists. You got what you wanted. Now it is yours, you own it, lock, stock, and barrel. Whatever happens from here on out, it is on you, it is your fault. Please don't take this as sour grapes, 'cause it ain't. My family and I shall continue to live and prosper, and enjoy our lives in the 1.5%. Under the continuing Obama regime, the haves shall continue to have, and the have nots shall continue to, well, have not. Good luck to those of you out there who have not yet "made it." Your path has just gotten much more difficult. Jobs are not forthcoming. To those of you currently in college, I really feel for you... you are now going to have to settle for a life in the hospitality sector, at best. Enjoy waiting tables, for it is what you wanted apparently. Best of luck everyone. One day you may just wake up and feel like the dog that caught the bus.
Later.
Putin is not entirely pleased. The administration had a good relationship with his predecessor. The BBC describes it has "cautiously optimistic". That's not the same thing as "happy". Iran is also somewhat relieved, as they feared a GOP win would make war inevitable. I don't ol' Fidel has an opinion (or a brainwave) and I can't find a reaction for Chavez. You are, as usual, projecting your own desires and hoping against hope they match reality.
You are wrong about that easy123!
Bush is history!Old news that has no connection to Libya!
Benghazi has the potential to bring Obama and Hillery both down!
Not just what went down but more so all the evasiveness, lying and attempts to cover it up!
Plus Obama in going to be in a much more hostile environment than Bush was post 9/11
Please don't take this as sour grapes, 'cause it ain't.
Sure sounds like sour grapes when you read the whole post.
I guess the country is happy with the state of affairs in Washington. They sent the same players back for another 4 years. The same narcissistic socialist president. The same NeoCon House. The same dysfunctional Senate. Does this mean the country goes on spending like a drunken sailor without a budget for 4 more years?
What Walden said @9:20
"Sure sounds like sour grapes when you read the whole post."
Apparently reading comprehension is not a strong suit, eh Keith?
Great cartoon Clay! You earned a month’s pay with this one alone.
Alprova said it best, “excellent depiction of the faces across America tonight. It's as if you snapped a photo.”
Although not an Obama supporter this time around (I voted for an independent) I take some comfort in the knowledge that the majority of Americans saw through the hypnotic gaze of the vampire capitalists and drove a stake (metaphorically) through the heart of its figurehead along with the worst of its minions.
It wasn’t too long ago (a couple of days, yesterday?) Republican sages predicted the GOP would win a majority in the Senate. But, lo and behold, Democrats actually gained in the Senate. They also gained around ten seats in the House.
Gay marriage has been on ballots 33 times, and lost every time. Until now. Four states now approve gay marriage.
Tammy Baldwin became the first openly gay senator ever elected.
Two states legalized marijuana. Thumbs up on that one. :-)
Florida’s amendment 6 was roundly defeated.
New Hampshire now has women in all their House and Senate positions, and governor.
And the presidential election wasn’t as close as I thought it would be. The GOP bet everything on Romney, and they were roundly repudiated. Maybe you really can’t buy everything.
All in all, it was a good night for progressives (Elizabeth Warren, Alan Grayson etc) and a comeuppance for true regressive’s (Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock etc) not to mention the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, Fox News et al.
Kudos to ‘Onetinsoldier’ for his 12:59 a.m post and ‘MickeyRat’ for his 7:32 a.m. post. Damn funny boys. Gloating a tad are you? He he.
Jesse,
Bush's wars aren't history. And if you think wars in the Middle East had nothing to do with Libya then I have a bridge to sell you.
No, it doesn't have the potential to bring Obama or Hillary down.
"Not just what went down but more so all the evasiveness, lying and attempts to cover it up!"
Still no proof of any of that. Again, where did all of the weapons of mass destruction go?
Obama has been in a more hostile environment than Bush since he was elected the first time.
At least my man, Justin Amash, held onto his seat! He is one of a handful of good players in Washington these days.

Easy123 said... "Obama has been in a more hostile environment than Bush since he was elected the first time."
Obama created the "hostile" environment with is my-way-or-the-highway approach to governing.
If Republicans only accepted their responsibility for creating the mess that the President is trying to clean up.
You know the first step is to admit you have a problem and Republicans can't get past the first step.
This election was over on the day Republicans selected Mitt Romney.
But Republicans didn't have much to chose from.
The Republican party is the party of NO IDEAS. Of NOTHING. Read the Republican comments here and elsewhere.
The President and Democrats are cleaning up the mess created by Bush and Republicans.
Republicans should simply stop creating a mess that Democrats have to clean up.
limric said... I agree with you on so many things limric, but I do not understand why you see the democrats as any better than the republicans as far as their relationships with "vampire capitalists".
BRP,
The Republicans created the "hostile" environment with their "My way or the highway" approach to governing.
See how that works? The problem is that your side admitted that their main goal was obstructionism.
Try again. :-)
Easy: Seriously, how do you breathe with your head up there? Your naivety is scary. Go now, and feed at the public trough. You're late.
Easy123 said... "The problem is that your side admitted that their main goal was obstructionism."
My side? Do you have any idea what you are talking about? I voted for real change with a straight Libertarian/Independent vote, Gary Johnson, Shaun Crowell, Matthew Deniston and Rodger Cooksey.
It does look very hollow when you see the Congressional Republicans fail to achieve their "number one priority."
Especially, as they sacrificed every other important need the country is facing to play that silly, sad political game.
miraweb said... "Especially, as they sacrificed every other important need the country is facing to play that silly political game."
You see, that is the problem, that we look to the federal government to satisfy "every important need the country is facing". The federal government will fail in that role.
I'm not trying to gloat, but come on. What were the Republicans thinking??? They trot out a Romney/Ryan ticket and then think that the majority of voters will actually fall for their "message" that they better embody the values and ideals of America's middle-class? An uber-rich venture capitalist and a granny starver that's still wet behind the ears? Really??? Really????
At the end of the day, when the votes were all tallied, the final count reflected the fact that they basically could only find appeal with southern & mid-western rednecks and the wealthy. That's it.
Politics does indeed make for some strange bedfellows as Charles Dudley Warner, an American essayist and editor once opined.
The map that best explains the election is the county-by-county breakout.

Romney learned the harsh reality that the "47 percent of the country who are government-dependent, self-identified victims" have a voice at the ballot box, too; and collectively, they kicked HIS no federal income tax return disclosing, Bain Capital, hedge fund a@@ straight to the curb.
47percentersROCK!
"Part of what drives people crazy about him — and if you wanted to see crazy, you should have seen the fugue state that overcame the Fox election all-stars last night, because I've seen jollier police lineups — is that he so clearly understands his own genuine historical stature, and that he wears it so easily, and that he uses it so deftly. It is not obvious. He does not use it brutally or obviously. It is just... there with him, a long and deep reservoir of violence and sorrow and tragedy and triumph out of which comes almost everything he does."

Repubs ignored Latinos, African Americans, alienated women and it all came back to bite them in the Azz last night. It couldn't have happened to a better bunch of wingnuts. Fat, greasy Rush Limbaugh, Bald headed pig Karl Rove, the Koch Brothers and all the rest couldn't deliver after all the money, all the lies. Today it is MORNING IN AMERICA!! The people have spoken!!!
To all the sad sack losers, don't worry find yourself a padded room with a rocking chair, take up basket weaving or something to comfort you and in no time these four years will fly by. By the time you emerge from your room or cave it will be time to restock to get ready for HILLARY IN 2016. She will probably hire the "Chicago Boys" to run her campaign since President Obama will no longer need them.
Hmmm let's start that clock to Hillary in 2016. tick, tock, tick tock. LOL
BRP - Reasonable people can (and do) disagree on what the priorities of the country ought to be and where the government should (or should not) have a role.
A schoolyard self-destructive p!ssing match with the leader of the opposite party is clearly not how we should spend the country's time, credibility, or money.
Not even in the top 10.
Or the top 100.
I am amused that Florida still hasn't been called by the networks.
Nobody wants to go there again.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bob-burnett/top-ten-reasons-romney-lost_b_2087664.html?utm_hp_ref=politics
Mitt was wildly unpopular in Massachusetts, his home state. Obama carried Massachusetts by 23 percentage points. Romney claimed to have been an effective Governor who practiced bipartisanship, but the word got around that he had been an arrogant, dogmatic prick.
Romney told one too many lies. After securing the Republican nomination for president, Romney waged an exceedingly dishonest campaign. An independent fact-checker, Politifact, reported two-thirds of Romney's statements ranged from "half-true" to blatant lies. The media didn't report all of these falsehoods but a week before the election Mitt was caught running an extremely deceptive auto bailout ad that torpedoed his chances in Ohio.
No Republican can win at the national level. A year ago, when the slate of Republican presidential candidates formed, it was Mitt Romney versus the "seven dwarfs:" Bachmann, Cain, Gingrich, Paul, Pawlenty, Perry and Santorum. Romney struggled in the first primaries and had to turn on his money machine to defeat the others in the conclusive primaries. It was an indication that Romney was the best of a weak field and that Republicans were lukewarm about him.
Romney had to tack to the right to secure his base and this turned off self-defined centrist voters. Obama overwhelmingly carried both liberal and centrist voters. The electorate has gotten wise to the Republican Party; they understand that they are radical conservatives -- out-of-touch with the middle class. Ultimately, that's why Romney lost. It indicates that no Republican presidential candidate would have been electable.
This election could be the best thing that ever happened to the LIBERTARIANS.
CNN is trying to explain how the 300 point drop in the Dow is not a consequence of the election results.
Gary Johnson took over 1.1 million votes. We will never know how many write-in votes Ron Paul got. The combination of the two would certainly eclipse the margin of victory between Obama and Romney several times over.
I wonder if the republican's are regretting the way they alienated those voters?
Watch for the Dow to rise again tomorrow as the hedge funds pick up the stocks at a bargain that the "sky is falling" crowd dumps today.
The fundamentals of the economy are exactly the same today as they were yesterday.
A funny comment I found on another site I like to read:
"I’m stopping by my local CVS to get a large bottle of Fukitol. The moochers have won and I ain’t going to be happy about it for a long time."
Yep, that is a large shrug you are hearing out there. Have nots, enjoy yourselves while it lasts. Once you drain the treasury dry, don't come crying to us.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/06/fox-news-argues-obama-ohio_n_2085817.html
Absolutely hilarious!
WATCH OUT FOR THAT CLIFF
The republicans retained the House, which puts them in a political pickle. Without legislative action two things will happen January 1, 2013 when we all sail off the so-called ‘Fiscal Cliff.’
First, the tax cuts expire and we’ll owe more to the IRS.
Second, a massive cut in military spending will kick in.
The President will propose a Bill to keep tax cuts in place for lower and middle income people while raising the top rate about 3% on income over $250,000. He’ll also retain most of the military spending but not all.
If the House rejects his Bill they will be responsible for raising taxes and cutting defense spending.
They have two choices. What are they going to do?
JackLost,
"Easy: Seriously, how do you breathe with your head up there? Your naivety is scary. Go now, and feed at the public trough. You're late."
I take insult attempts from proven idiots as affirmation that my education and pursuit of facts/truth/knowledge is paying off.
Collect your Social Security check and use your Medicare at the proctologist today. I won't call you a Socialist. You'll still be an ignorant, old bastard but that's beside the point. I'll be at work paying for all of those programs while you collect the benefits. Hell, I won't even whine about it!
Bask in your ignorance and your contradictory logic. There were enough reasonable people in this country yesterday to vote the right guy in. Despite you and your ilk's misguided efforts, lies and idiocy. The right person won. Or should I say the "left" person?
You lost. Watch things continue to improve. I'll enjoy watching you whine.
BRP,
Quote, (context) “Why you see the democrats as any better than the republicans.” “Better?” When speaking of the state of affairs and rampant corruption therein, “better” becomes relative.
I read a great metaphor yesterday about our ‘choices’. “Re-electing Obama is like throwing the Titanic full astern and hitting the iceberg a second time. Electing Romney is like hitting a different (bigger) iceberg.”
Is not choosing the lesser of two evils still choosing evil? Choosing to vote thus perpetuates a government run by evil people. To me, this is the consequence of falling to the siren's song of pragmatism over principles; Hence my vote for an independent.
The only differences are how fast the ship takes on water, who's manning the pumps and who’s allowed in the life boats. In this respect I feel the Democrats are awful but the Republicans are much much worse. The Bush administration is a testament to this.
miraweb said... "Watch for the Dow to rise again tomorrow as the hedge funds pick up the stocks at a bargain that the "sky is falling" crowd dumps today. The fundamentals of the economy are exactly the same today as they were yesterday."
I am sure you are correct about the bounce, it will probably begin later today. The fundamentals are the same but it is hard to imagine them turning in a positive direction as long as Washington continues to try to run things and focuses on redistribution to solve societies ills.
The electoral map looks more like different countries.
The Northeast and West coast contribute the most to support the country, but the receiver red states take the money and bite the hand that helps them. I guess you could call the red states...welfare queens.
The red welfare states are a drag on the blue state economies much as southern Europe is a drag on northern Europe. maybe the red states should have their own country in which to practice their beliefs.
BRP,
"My side? Do you have any idea what you are talking about? I voted for real change with a straight Libertarian/Independent vote, Gary Johnson, Shaun Crowell, Matthew Deniston and Rodger Cooksey."
Yes, YOUR side. You're a closet Republicans. Just read any of your previous posts.
Better Late Than Never or It's More Than Grumpy White Men
"If we’re going to win in the future, Republicans need to do better among Latinos, and they need to do better among women — particularly single women. The Republican Party had better pay attention to the Latino vote."

And when the glitter wears off, rich dude will still be rich and servants will still be serving, only thre will be more with fewer hours because they're all working part-time so rich guy doesn't pay penalty on health care. Status Quo.
whatsnottaken,
The penalty only applies to employers with over 50 employees. It appears the gentleman in the cartoon is only employing 4. You might want to actually read what the Affordable Care Act says before you reveal your ignorance again. Talk about status quo!
http://www.obamacarewatch.org/primer/employer-mandate
The economy of the USA cannot be repaired by just one man, no matter who he is. Neither can Obama. Obama has already tried it and failed now he seems to think he has super powers to use in the second attempt.
As long as Obama is President this country is in terrible trouble.
IceCutter,
"The economy of the USA cannot be repaired by just one man, no matter who he is."
Republicans would disagree with you. Jesus "Ronald Reagan" Christ did it. LMAO!
"Neither can Obama."
You said that already. Obama is one man. We got it.
"Obama has already tried it and failed now he seems to think he has super powers to use in the second attempt."
How can you "fail" at something that you just deemed impossible? If the option of success is never on the table, you cannot fail. However, the "first attempt" wasn't a failure. Check the stats.
"As long as Obama is President this country is in terrible trouble."
According to your logic, you could replace the name "Obama" with any name considering that "the economy of the USA cannot be repaired by just one man..."
I guess you don't remember saying that.
While Obama did win nationally, it's a different story closer home. If the goal of the Times and Bennett is to titillate and amuse a few libs I suppose they are succeeding, but looking around at the results of local races, they are not being much of an influence...or maybe they are, just in not the way they would like. Dr. Desjarlais made the front page for about two weeks on here, and won fairly handily....backlash maybe? But oh wait.....Joanne Favors won, so congrats Chattanooga Times.
Demonizing the wealthy?
They demonized themselves a long time ago with their "47%" fantasies, their self-serving economic agenda, and their dismantling of our industry.
When they get their loyalties back to America from the Cayman Islands we might be able to reassess them.
Easy123 said... "Just read any of your previous posts."
Yes, I suggest you do just that. Before doing so I recommend that you take off your two-party blinders.
On the national map, only the cities of Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Tulsa, and Houston have majorities that did not vote for Obama.
Every other large city went Democratic in every region of the country. Even in Atlanta, Dallas, and Austin the majority voted for Obama.
Tennesee's Davidson and Shelby counties both went for Obama, as well.
Tennesee will lean right as long as its population is fundamentally rural and suburban. As the southern cities grow, that dynamic could easily change.
http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/results/president
(click on "Size of Lead" map to see cities)
BRP,
I already have. I recommend foregoing the sanctimoniousness. It's normal for your ilk to be in denial. You're just in more of a schizophrenic denial.
I think the real question is not if social conservatives will stick with the party of Wall Street.
It is whether Wall Street will stick with the party of social conservatives.
Until and unless the Republicans realize they can't be so ONE dimensional, representing only the top ONE percent, they will become even more irrelevant in the future than they already are. As weak a candidate as Romney was in the first place, he could still have won this election if he had not disenfranchised women, latinos, blacks, and the working class to the extent that he did. Even with all the money the fat cats spent on Romney's lying ads, the people still prevailed.
If you Repubs want to get one of your own back in the White House you're gonna have to accept the fact that this is a very diverse nation that revolves around more than just the one-percenters. Without maintaining and supporting the base (99%) the 1% can have even 100% of all the money and it won't do them any good if the nation goes down the tubes.
As for the arrogant slobs like timbo, walden, and the others who like to thump their chests about being in the 1% or being a business owner....we libs do not hate rich people or business owners (many libs are rich and/or own their own businesses, too), we just despise the arrogant pricks like you who strut like peacocks and act as if you're better or special because of it. Actually, I shouldn't speak for other libs and use such a strong word as “despise.” I think I can fairly say, however, that most of us find you pathetic, at least, and contemptible in your arrogance. Pricks.
Easy123,
As usual, engaging you is a complete waste of time.
harp3339: The concession speech reflects the truth about Romney, in a way that's not flattering.
The quality of it? Let's say you're correct. To me, that's showing the truth of Romney even more. Because I remember how he was the rest of the time, but his ability to switch to something completely different? Shows his skin-changing nature.
Any actor can make a prepared speech off a teleprompter, I think we've heard enough of that criticism from the Anti-Obama crowd.
Reminds me of the last time we had a consummate actor in the Oval Office.
I'm glad we were spared that fate again.
nucanuck, only if you just let the graphics fool you, as they just show the winner, not the margin. There are relatively few states where only one candidate enjoyed significant support.
I wonder what the margin would be if each state awarded its electoral votes by proportion.
As for the servants in this image, no, I don't think they'd be terribly discomfited by being fired, as the society as a whole would have far more opportunity for them than if things were oriented towards the benefit of the rich man.
Of course, we don't know how this Rich Man made his fortune, but I'd give good odds that it was with the labor of others. I'd certainly say he doesn't have as much enjoyment of his life without these servants he's employed.
That's the thing, apparently people employed by a rich person are supposed to only know gratitude for their beneficent boss who deigns to give them a job, but apparently the recognition that said employer has some benefit from having employees is lost.
Really, does anybody think a person (besides through nepotism mind you) is hired for any reason other than what they have to offer?
Where would a person selling goods be if he didn't have customers, and they can't all be luxury goods sold to the 1%. Who really makes Wal-marts revenues?
I think a lot would come from the servants in this image, and the many other workers.
patriot1 has hit on a huge point! DesJarlais is in! Ethics and hypocrisy be damned! That's what the republicans got for their billions, Desjarlais. The crown jewel in the 2012 GOP crown! You've got to pick your battles, kinda like Mitt picked Pennsylvania! LOL
Ryan's toast, as well. Couldn't bring his own state along. Indelible image of his punk a$$ washing dishes for the homeless.
Conservatives can take comfort when they realize Mitt would have run the country as poorly as he ran his campaign. You shoulda went with Rickhead Perry!
Hopefully the dirt eaters on this forum will be as wrong about things to come as they were about the outcome of this election, and BOY were they wrong!
BPR,
Your opinion has been duly noted.
The saddest place in the country right now will be the lobbyists' bars lining the K-Street corridor in D.C.
Looks like the "Scarlet L" rule remains in effect for another four years.
"Obama’s rules bar lobbyists from serving in agencies they've lobbied within the past two years, ban political appointees who leave for the private sector from lobbying their former colleagues and shut down lobbyists from serving on federal boards."
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1012/82415_Page2.html
As for DesJarlis, I'll gladly give Zach Wamp, Scottie Mayfield, or heck, Robin Smith a bus ticket to the 4th District.
Heck, I'd give Fleischmann one, but I'm sure he'd rather stay here for now.
In better news though, Joe Walsh didn't make it, and Allan West and Michelle Bachmann may be out as well.
Romney would finished the damage started under Reagan. Voo Doo economics over thirty years have brought this country to it's knees. Of the 10 trillion or so in debt Obama inherited, 70% was accrued under republican presidents of the last 32 years. And the only President to give us a surplus in that time was Clinton.
Oh Reagan was the 1st President to put us in debt since 1914.
I'm really wondering if the GOP will learn anything from the shellacking they took yesterday. As long as the public faces of the Republicans are certified fruit bats like Donald Trump, Glenn Beck, Todd Akin, Richard Mourdock, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Ted Nugent, Hank Williams, Jr., Dick Cheney, Jack Welch, Scott Desjarlais (and so forth), the GOP will never win another presidential election again. So, will the GOP take a good hard look at themselves and change? Or just hide under the bed and make Fine Whine?
With our Country divided in half I really have a dim view of the future. When it was announced that Obama won the election I watched the crowd in Chicago jumping up and down, smiling, fist bumping, waving small America flags. I couldn’t believe the parents and grandparents that were celebrating when their children and grandchildren will have to pay for our 16 trillion (and counting) debt. The young people celebrating who will still not have jobs available to them when they graduate from college. People in the crowd who just love the fact that then can receive welfare and don’t have to look for work, get free healthcare, cell phones, and being in the Country illegally knowing nothing will happen to them. Big City Mayors celebrating and who ignore the fact that their part of the decades long history of ruining their cities, using the liberal template.
The celebrating people: · Believe that Obama now has a mandate even though he received less votes and a smaller margin victory than in 2008 · Believe that it is all right that the Country is clearly divided · Proud of the fact that they reelected a President for the first time in history, with a 8.0 unemployment rate · Proud of the fact that they reelected one of the worse Presidents in history · Reject the fact that the Country is facing a fiscal cliff · Think dictionaries should add evil to the word rich to make it read “evil-rich” · Reject people who have achieved success · Believe people got rich at the expense of the poor people · Reject capitalism (http://www.capitalism.org) · Believe that Obama will be successful the next four years and the unemployment rate will go down · Are ignorant of the fact that millions of people who have quit looking for work or are only working a part time job are not included in the dismal unemployment rate · Believe that the government can tax the job creators more and that they still will create jobs · Believe that a substantial amount of private companies will not have to close just because Obama has been reelected · Reject what our founding forefathers fought and died for and think that European Socialism will somehow work in America · Ignore the historical fact that socialism has always failed because it ran out of other people’s money and that socialism is really shared misery · Reject the fact that the Country was created on Christian principals · Believe that the words “social justice” should be in the Constitution · Reject the notion that the media covers for the liberals/progressives/socialists/statists · Believe that a big government is the answer to the Country’s problems · Believe that Obamacare, which will be 1/6 of the governments budget, will be successful · Believe that the cost of Obamacare will not keep rising · Believe that Medicare and Medicaid will always be there for everyone · Reject the notion that in the future Obamacare will have to take over Medicare and Medicaid ·
cont' Believe that big government will be able to handle the economical loss of the earning power of the retiring “Baby Boomers” and also be able to provide their future healthcare · Approve of winning elections using Saul Alinsky’s “By any means possible” · Approve of activists Judges, especially on the Supreme Court · Believe that desires are rights · Reject that Obama offered free everything for people who want free everything in exchange for votes · Were proud that Obama informed the victims of Hurricane Sandy that he has their backs but ignore the fact that Obama didn’t have the backs of our citizens who died in Benghazi · Have no clue that a really great politician serves his party best by putting their Country first

NO, Roo, he could still have won had he not been running against the MSM too.
BobMKE,
The "winners" have succumbed to the myth that they have triumphed over the selfish capitalists and will now forever have their pockets filled by their benevolent government. Good luck with that!
BRP!
Their MIGHT be 4 or 5 folks on here that are aware of and understand the reality of the situation this nation is in ,the rest are living in the twilight zone!!
In actuality there were no winners yesterday no matter who you rooted for ! In the short term we are all gonna lose !
A Conservative Analysis
But Barack Obama also won because the public knew him and stacked him up to a nothing burger on the other side. That nothing burger was not, per se, Mitt Romney, but the GOP as a whole. Consider, if you will, the GOP’s Senate nominees, many, but not all, of whom were backed by the party establishment.
Tommy Thompson, Heather Wilson, Connie Mack, Pete Hoekstra, Linda McMahon, Todd Aiken, and Richard Mourdock were not exactly founts of rhetorical genius or articulate mouthpieces for conservatism in the way Mike Lee, Pat Toomey, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz have been.
Add to them Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, and the like and the GOP has had very few skilled salesmen for conservative ideas and values. The party then put its fate in the hands of a moderate from Massachusetts who, just trust the GOP, was really more conservative than he let on.

A British Analysis
There will be a lot of talk of the fiscal cliff - the mutually agreed suicide pact that was meant to concentrate minds on agreement.
For Republicans, defeat may be followed by a healthy debate. Or it may be political civil war.
It is inevitable that Mitt Romney will be blamed as a poor candidate - he was, although he deserves high marks for evolving into something much better and upping his game.
Conservatives will say they weren't right-wing enough. Moderates will say they have to move to the centre.

A GOP Strategist's Analysis
Sandy probably blunted some of Romney's momentum but what really stopped it was Romney's continued inability to obtain a reasonable vote share with key constituent blocks, including blacks, Hispanics, young people and the working class.
Quite simply: he failed to gain the trust of those voters. Completely. By a 2-to-1 margin, voters thought Obama "cared more about people like them." You don't win elections when you're losing a core metric like that.
Here are some of our flawed assumptions:
We thought young voters would not turn out at the same level as 2008. They did. In fact, they represented 19% of the electorate per exit polls--as high, if not higher, than four years ago.
We said that Democrats would not be +6 over Republicans and if they were, Obama would win. Well, they did and he did. Again, exit polls say Democrats were +6. Romney needed the proportion of Republicans and Democrats to be even to win.
We thought minority turnout would be lower than 2008. It was not. In several important precincts in key states, minorities voted in numbers equal to--and in some cases better than--four years ago.
We thought Romney would win Independents by double digits. He won them, but by just five points.
We thought Romney would have a huge gender advantage among men; it was only seven points. Meanwhile, the President won women by 11 points.
We thought Romney would dominate on being "better able to handle the economy." He only beat the President on this issue by a few points. Not enough.
In a sense, Romney won the campaign he ran. He won 59% of white voters. He probably won two-thirds of white men. But in this day and age that isn't enough.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-lombardo/election-monitor-memo-to_b_2088679.html
J_D, the MSM didn't make Romney look stupid, out of touch, divisive, elitist, shallow, flip-floppery, and despicable. He did that entirely on his own. All the media had to do was show up and put the buffoon on video.
This stupid idea that the conservatives have to "change" by kissing up to Latinos and blacks, etc. is pretty dumb. Young voters are just so ignorant and inexperienced they thought it was "stylish" to poke the "man" in the eye by voting for the piss ant.
Obama got this huge turnout because of the racism of blacks and Latinos that wouldn't even let them listen to the conservative side. They won't show up for a white democrat just to illustrate how cool they are for voting for a black man. Obama is a two show pony.
Liberals trying to convince conservatives that they lost because of "changing" demographics is just a ploy to get the Republicans going in the wrong direction. Another 5% turnout of whites would have defeated Obama. That is easy.
It is obvious from the results of 2010 that to win, Republicans need conservative candidates. They lose with McCain's and Romney's. Don't fall for this attempt to co-opt the Republican party by making it democrat-lite. This will only alienate more conservatives and force a third party. That is a recipe for disaster.
As far as "whining," that is in the eye of the beholder. Your stupidity is so evident due to your lack of a rational argument for the your side. That is no big surprise.
jesse said... "Their MIGHT be 4 or 5 folks on here that are aware of and understand the reality of the situation this nation is in"
We have already gone past the point of no return!
BobMKE, are you under the impression that had Romney won, the debt would be paid off some other way, or that it would actually go down under Paul Ryan's plan? It wouldn't. Not till 2040 something by his projections.
And that Fiscal Cliff you're so upset about? Would actually REDUCE the deficit.
BTW, do you know what the US spends on healthcare costs? 15% of GDP already. Since government spending is about 40% of the US GDP (that's state, federal and local), 1/6 of that is HALF of what we're spending now. It's even less if you limit yourself to federal spending. Medicare & Medicaid are already 24% of the federal budget. You'd saying they'd cut it by a third? And you're complaining?
Your numbers are demonstrative of your flawed reasoning. Taking you at your word, you basically just argued that this Obamacare you hate will cut costs, perhaps in HALF.
Did you not even realize what you were saying?
No, you've just succumbed to the myth and deceptions promulgated by the right-wing, which shows in your word salad of hot-button issues that are short on accuracy.
Don't you think a great politician would serve his country by putting honest and integrity first, and not just pandering to whatever lies you want to believe?
jesse, the citizens no longer represented by Joe Walsh, Allen West and Scott Brown won.
And close enough to have a chance on Michelle Bachmann in a recount.
Not to mention the people spared from Linda McMahon, Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock.
And same-sex marriage won in Maryland, Maine and Washington with a side of Minnesota.
Lots of winners out there, as long as you don't buy into the right-wing narrative.
Rickaroo, the MSM gave Romney a pass on so much stuff, they didn't even put him on video and call him out. They wanted a close fight rather than a blow-out. Much better for them.
The notion that Romney suffered from Media discrimination is a self-delusion. He got as much positive coverage as Danica Patrick for running 24th at a NASCAR race.
Woe is me! Really, how many people on this forum would want to force their wife or daughter to carry a child to term that was the result of rape, (with the exception of jackbdimmer) That is just one of the things America rejected yesterday along with (I've been raped but I told my body don't let me get pregnant so I didn't) or It was Gods will that i get raped and impregnated, REALLY, guess why you lost, your effn fools, that's why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tu? You're alive? I figured you would have jumped off a bridge or something. I have to admit that I'm a little surprised, and even more so that you're still posting that silly stuff.
What Did Not Happen
Wall Street will no doubt reap some benefits from a Romney presidency.
Mr. Romney will appoint new leaders at most financial regulatory agencies, including the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, an aggressive rule-writing bureau that has become the scorn of many bankers. Under Republican control, the agencies could also have a lighter touch, bringing fewer enforcement cases against big banks and hedge funds.
In a more significant move, a Romney administration is expected to pursue a makeover of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the new consumer watchdog born out of the Dodd-Frank overhaul. Republicans hope to wrestle control from a single director, Richard Cordray, and refashion the bureau into a bipartisan commission. Mr. Cordray, whose term extends through 2013, was appointed by Mr. Obama during a Congressional recess.
Sallie Mae, the largest student lender in the nation, could be another winner if Mr. Romney is elected. During the race, the Romney campaign hinted that it would allow private lenders back into the system for distributing federal loan money. A Republican administration, some analysts say, would also abandon proposed reforms that would allow students to discharge loan debt in bankruptcy.
The changes could similarly extend to Dodd-Frank, leading authorities to prolong public comment periods for unfinished rules. Under a Republican president, some provisions passed in the wake of the financial crisis could be tweaked.

Rickyroo: If you don't think the MSM had a role in Romney's defeat, you're dumber than I thought. Wise up, pal.
Timbo,
Keep it up, sweetie. You and people like you are truly a detriment to your own side. You want a good argument/reason to vote Democrat? Just talk to a Republican like timbo.

Timbo wrote: "This stupid idea that the conservatives have to "change" by kissing up to Latinos and blacks, etc. is pretty dumb."
You're right. Latinos and Blacks know when someone is "kissing up to them." They also know when it is that a politician truly has their interests at heart.
"Young voters are just so ignorant and inexperienced they thought it was "stylish" to poke the "man" in the eye by voting for the piss ant."
Clearly you are out of touch with the average young voter, what motivates them, and their level of intelligence.
"Obama got this huge turnout because of the racism of blacks and Latinos that wouldn't even let them listen to the conservative side. They won't show up for a white democrat just to illustrate how cool they are for voting for a black man. Obama is a two show pony."
Sir, they got a belly full of the Conservative side of things. The Latinos know what the word "deportation" means. For decades, blacks in this country have witnessed time and again the efforts of Conservatives to keep discrimination alive.
"Liberals trying to convince conservatives that they lost because of "changing" demographics is just a ploy to get the Republicans going in the wrong direction. Another 5% turnout of whites would have defeated Obama. That is easy."
You're assuming that those 5% of white people would have voted for Romney. I scanned the crowd in Chicago last night. I was amazed at the number of white faces I saw. I saw many white men, my age, who were waving flags and banners too.
"It is obvious from the results of 2010 that to win, Republicans need conservative candidates. They lose with McCain's and Romney's."
You're completely overlooking the fact that the ultra-right candidates were weeded out during the primaries. What you claim holds no water.
The election of 2010 was motivated by impatience with a very dreary economy and a belief in promises offered but not delivered.
For two years, the American public have been waiting for all those elected conservatives to get off their collective butts and to do what they promised to do. They are still waiting. The Tea Party hoopla is on life support.
"Don't fall for this attempt to co-opt the Republican party by making it democrat-lite. This will only alienate more conservatives and force a third party. That is a recipe for disaster."
Where do you think it is headed anyway? Mainstream Republicans see that the attempt to take over the party by religious Conservatives is poisoning their attempts to win elections and it is reflected in the results of last night's numbers.
Every Republican politician is reassessing their priorities today.

Ohio Judge Not Amused By Ballot Shenanigans
Lawyers for the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and the Service Employees International Union, who sued Husted, argued his instructions went beyond what a federal appeals court ordered, illegally shifting the burden for correct paperwork to voters from poll workers.
“Voters should not be disenfranchised due to poll-worker error,” plaintiffs’ attorney Barbara Chisholm told Marbley at the hearing today. “It’s the poll workers’ duty to record this information.”
Lawyers for the state have “a lot of explaining to do,” Marbley told them at the hearing.
“What concerns me is that it was filed on a Friday night at 7 p.m.,” he said, referring to Husted’s order. “The first thought that came to mind was democracy dies in the dark.”
The directive appears to contradict court rulings and state law by ordering the disqualification of ballots, Marbley said.
“You haven’t shown me a law or any facts that justify this,” he said.
Marbley said he would make his decision by Nov. 12.

Yeah right....
tderng, you do know that California, a blue state if ever there was one...is over 30 billion dollars, more than twice the size of any other state's.
There's no shortage of food production available to blue states. Some urban areas are also working on developing their agriculture, for various reasons.
Sorry to burst your bubble there.
Do keep up your fantasies of manorial aristocracy, maybe you can wear a suit of armor too!
Of course you won't be killing anybody for nothing, you'll have good reasons like which sports team somebody supports.

Namely a way to seem like you're doing something good, but really leaving an exploit big enough to drive a truck through.
Where to put your money now that Obama has won
"By Jon Markman, MarketWatch"
"The stock market loves President Barack Obama. With all its cheating heart, and all its mercenary soul."
"More than that, actually — it adores him. The love story of Wall Street and Obama is a bromance like no other, a man-crush for the ages."
"Despite his threats to soak the wealthy for more taxes, despite Fed Chairman’s attack on savers, despite even his threat to kill special treatment for dividends, institutional investors have thrown themselves at Obama’s feet as they have not done in the first term of any president in the past century."

Secret to Romney’s Defeat: Not Enough ‘Angry White Guys’?
"Republican senator Lindsey Graham’s remark that there weren’t enough “angry white guys” to bring Republicans to power seemed prophetic in the light of President Barack Obama’s victory."
"A decline in the number of white voters and a surge in voters from ethnic minorities and women helped Obama on election night. Ohio, one of the key battleground states, was captured in part through a rise in turnout among African-Americans, who voted overwhelmingly for Obama."
"Back in August, Graham had said: “The demographics race we’re losing badly. We’re not generating enough angry white guys to stay in business for the long term."..."

Post-election, Nate Silver's book sales soar
"Nate Silver, the New York Times prognosticator who became something of a controversial figure in the final days of the 2012 presidential campaign, has seen an 850 percent spike of his book sales since nailing his electoral predictions yesterday, according to CNN Money."
"The book, "The Signal and the Noise: Why So Many Predictions Fail-but Some Don't," is currently the number two bestseller book on Amazon.com, behind only the children's book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel."..."
"Silver writes the blog FiveThirtyEight for the New York Times, and he, in addition to a number of other pundits, appears to have correctly predicted which states would go for President Obama and which would go for Romney in last night's contest. (The winner in Florida has not yet been called.) But in the days leading up to the campaign, his blog, on which he predicted the odds of an Obama victory at over 90 percent, took on a uniquely polarizing status: The right targeted Silver as a liberal apologist who favored skewed polls; the left, meanwhile, revered him as a purveyor of data-driven rationality - particularly in the days following Mr. Obama's widely panned first debate performance, during which Silver continued to bet on an Obama victory."
"Amid backlash over his popularity, and the inevitable backlash to that backlash, Silver engaged on Twitter with his detractors, attempting to bet Sandy relief money with MSNBC's Joe Scarborough before being rebuked by the Times public editor in the pages of the paper."
"He later backtracked on that bet, donated $2,538 to the Red Cross, and has since taken a somewhat more circumspect approach on Twitter in recent days. After disproving those who doubted his approach, however, he did pause for a moment of self-promotion: "This is probably a good time to link to my book," he wrote on Twitter. Apparently, he was right."

Obama win: What it means for your tax bill
Money Watch -- "The election is finally over, which means the tax clock is ticking. Congress now has eight weeks until the U.S. economy jumps over the much-dreaded "fiscal cliff," the combination of tax increases and spending cuts that are scheduled to go into effect in January 2013."
"Earlier this week, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said that a lame duck Congress "probably shouldn't do big things," but "the best you can hope for is a bridge." That bridge may mean a short-term extension, which would allow newly-elected lawmakers and President Barack Obama to hash out a deal."
"Today, Speaker Boehner was a bit more conciliatory, saying that all sides are "closer than many think" to being able to revise the tax code and come to an agreement and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said "Of course" a deal is possible, adding that he had a "pleasant" conversation with House Speaker John Boehner this morning and a "nice conversation" with President Obama last night about moving forward on fiscal cliff negotiations."

The markets are not interested in any Congressional dance hall antics.
happy bulbs said....
Really, does anybody think a person (besides through nepotism mind you) is hired for any reason other than what they have to offer?
Absolutely not. You only hire people that can provide what you need. Why would anyone employ anyone for reasons other than that except for a government job? The problem is the high number that have "nothing" to offer and are essentially unemployable. There was a time when a strong back was sufficient but now there are not many with that. I would bet if VW would reveal the number one reason for people being fired it is not getting to work on time or missing too much work.
I cannot imagine the kind of country you envision other than all having the same thing with no one having it if everyone doesn't. There is a difference in equal opportunity and equal distribution. Do you resent the Dr that sacrificed years of his/her life to be able to save your life when you have that heart issue? Do you resent the wealth of those that risk it all to start a business and provide jobs?
I resent the political manipulation and favor showing through the tax codes and other tools of manipulation used by politicians at all levels.
Romney did not offer the necessary solutions but in my opinion is a more credible and sincere person than Obama will ever be. Obama, in my opinion, which is totally different than yours, is a pitiful excuse for the position and I would not trust him under any circumstances. But, he is the president and I do hope he is not faced with too many difficult situations or decisions and we all need to pray he stays safe and healthy. Heaven forbid Biden being in the role of POTUS.
Top Ten Reason Mitt Romney Lost.
10.) Hurricane Sandy killed Mitt's momentum. Monther Nature is well known to have a liberal bias. I heard she watches Rachel Maddow and enjoys the work of The Indigo Girls. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.
9.) Chris Christie Pearl Harbored him. Christie expressed gratitude for federal assistance after his state was hammered by a storm. The nerve of that guy.
8.) That Black Panther in Philadelphia apparantly hit many precincts on election day. That guy is more ubiquitous than Santa Claus at Christmas.
7.) The Washington Redskins lost on Sunday, a fact that was supposed to bode well for team Romney. Somehow, this is all Cam Newton's fault.
6.) Family Circle magazine awarded the cookie recipe award to Michelle Obama over Ann Romeney. Family Circle is a leftist propoganda rag and always has been. I hear Hugo Chavez is a subscriber.
5.) Some kind of Kenyan Muslim voodoo.
4.) Did you know Hispanics can vote? What's next: Women driving cars?
3.) Americans do not have a proper appreciation of good looking veep candidates. This time around they went with Wally Cleaver with six-pack abs. In 2008 the GOP went the naughty librarian route...What the heck do you people want?
2.) Cross currents created by people wearing magic underwear under their Glenn Beck jeans caused a glitch in voting machines.
1.) You can't tell women nuthin'! Through a combination of outdated science, locker-room chatter, and a couple of copies of Swank magazine I hid under my bed as a teenager; I think I know more about women's reproductive issues than any of these chicks running around acting like experts. Broads...Am I right fellas?
harp3339, you've demonstrated once again why quoting part of what a person says can be highly distorting, since you missed the point of what I had to say.
Namely that somebody who is being employed to do a job is doing something that employer might want to appreciate rather than treat as the sort of thing the employee should kowtow in order to keep.
What do you think of that? Do you think I'm wrong when I point that an employee does something than an employer should appreciate rather than treat with condescension?
But you go straight to the notion that people are fired because it's always their own fault. Does that happen? Sure, but what it seems you'd never consider is the time when it's the bosses ire that leads to termination. Or just their personal advantage. Or sometimes they just coerce employees...much like some tried to do by threatening to fire their workers if Obama won.
But hey, did you notice how you've constructed an imaginary straw-man as to what kind of country I envision? Guess what? What I want? It's not at all like what you imagine. I think you better stop using your imagination, it leads far too much to some dystopian horror that bears little resemblance to reality. Here's something you might fear though...that equal of opportunity cannot exist with too great an inequality of distribution.
You can come up with your rhetorical questions if you like, but so can I: Should I not resent it when a doctor puts off treating me because he's got a golf game, or because he'll get more money from some other patient? Should I not resent it when the insurance company decides to put a bureaucratic hurdle in my way so they can get out of paying for a procedure in order to pad the executive salaries?? Should I not resent it when a business owner who has employed me decides I'm at fault because I won't let them do something on the sly to a customer? Should I not resent it when somebody treats my working for them as something they're entitled to just because they're the boss?
Such questions can be made all day, but they're rarely going to mean much. Why do you think they're worth asking? Do you think I won't recognize the technique?
And if you think for a second that Romney is a sincere or credible person at all, I only have to say your ability to judge character is highly questionable. Obviously you missed his rampant duplicity as he took more positions than an octopus playing Twister, all while coming up with so many dishonest representations of himself and even Obama that you would have to wonder what kind of person would let himself be the spokesperson for such deceit.
But heck, apparently you're deeply afraid of Biden. That's just laughable. Who are you going to demonize next? You know Hillary's in the line of succession too. And even Eric Holder.
anniebelle and easy good to see you back.
One good thing about Obama winning is the left didn't get to riot like they promised. You notice the right isn't rioting, that is because we are not that kind of people. They even said they were going to kill Romney, none of that kind of talk from us right wingers as you libs like to call us.
Dow down 312 today, its only just begun.
Give us a break degage-not in my 52 years have I seen such hate and lies directed at a president. Don't get all smug and high-and-mighty. I know plenty of people right there in TN that would lynch Obama in a heartbeat. Romney never was the object of that level of hate. It's WAY too late to take the high road.

Al, I take my hat off to you on your long standing prediction that Oblamea will win reelection. My prediction was 319 electoral votes for Romney and I wasn't even close.
Today will be Oblamea's happiest day and then his happiness will continue to go downward during the next four years.
I will now join millions and millions of other people who did not vote for Oblamea and we can all say, "Don't blame me."

And if you think for a second that Romney is a sincere or credible person at all, I only have to say your ability to judge character is highly questionable.
I have the same opinion of your assessment of Obama. Apparently you allow the media to mold your opinions about someone you don't support to start with.
Are you suggesting Obama never changed his position and that Obama did not demonize Romney daily? Obama is like trying to corner melted butter in a skillet with a fork.
happy commented...
But heck, apparently you're deeply afraid of Biden. That's just laughable. Who are you going to demonize next? You know Hillary's in the line of succession too. And even Eric Holder.
I am not afraid of anyone but Biden is a buffoon and you know it unless you have a mental block against bad news. I like Hilary, she probably should be the president now. I would feel zero sympathy if one of the weapons to Mexico were to be used by a drug cartel member to attack Holder.
Such questions can be made all day, but they're rarely going to mean much. Why do you think they're worth asking? Do you think I won't recognize the technique?
The ? I ask that you didn't answer was to confirm my suspicion that you were selfish, greedy resentful of the success of others, especially if their success results in financial rewards or other methods of recognition of their contribution. I know you are the champion of the under dog and as such start with the assumption that the accused is guilty of the allegation and you are here to prove it. You suspect wrong doing or some kind of abuse of power if there is success.
You and I are so far apart on two people, neither of which I want as a president, but in my opinion Obama is the worst of the two. I am sure you would have the big one if Gary Johnson were to get some traction. It is a waste of our time to seek to reconcile anything.
I know a lot of people I would like to buy at their true value and sell them for what they think they are worth, I would be among the wealthiest in the world....I put Obama in this value differential category.

harp3339, that's funny, saying I'm the one who allows the media to mold my opinions. Sorry, no, I actually noted how the media was less critical of Romney than they should have been. I didn't buy their spin one bit.
You, however, seem to have bought into the Right-wing sphere. Even while you profess to be an independent.
Here's the difference between Obama changing his position and Romney. Obama acknowledged the change. Romney played Etch-a-Sketch, and acted like there was no change whatsoever. I respect somebody saying that they changed their mind. Somebody who just takes whatever position is convenient for the audience? That ought to be a warning. Then again, that you try to create a false equivalency is a warning too.
Demonizing? You act like it's wrong to criticize somebody for their character and conduct, much like Romney claimed. You get so many things out of his playbook. But he was doing that while hypocritically engaging in such behavior himself. Just like you. Is that a coincidence? Here's the thing, it's not wrong to "demonize" somebody. When it's true. The problem with Romney is with falsehoods. Calling him on that isn't unfair at all.
Not that the media did, as I said, they let him get away, almost like he was entitled to his version of reality.
And yes, you are afraid of Biden. Because he's a buffoon. Stop trying to play with words and own up to things honestly rather than make petty defenses that just discredit you. Reminds me of the people who insist they don't hate something while expressing negative opinions. Are you as unaware as they seem to be?
And no, the questions you asked were clearly empty rhetoric, not genuine inquiries, but pointed attempts to express your position in the form of a question. Yet another example of denial on your part that discredits you.
It's a well-known technique. You could at least own up to it. You're not doing any good with the denial. But no, you can't actually be responsible yourself. That would require integrity and admitting what you're doing. That's something you ask of others, never yourself.
That's why you claim to be arguing against people who resent success, who want to punish others for getting ahead. Such a manufactured strawman with no basis in reality, but important to create because of its stigma. That way you can more easily dismiss real concerns about unfairness, about mistreatment, as somebody who just resents ambition. You just assume that because somebody is ahead, they deserve it, and anybody who questions that? Well, they're just jealous. That's what you got out of the playbook of Ayn Rand, isn't it? If anybody suspects injustice, why they're the one at fault. If you get ahead, it's because you deserved it, and if anybody suffered, it's their own fault.

Might I suggest to you exactly what I suggested to my own mother a few minutes ago?
Why not, for once, take the same path that his former opponent took late last night?
Mitt Romney conceded graciously and commanded a deep and lasting respect when he offered to stand behind the President and said that he would be praying for his success henceforth.
Rather than to adopt an attitude of pessimism, why not pray for the recovery of all the people of this nation, in the same way that I assume most of you may have for the victims of Sandy?
Think about those up in the Northeast who have much more on their plates to worry about, than the man who won the election. Imagine yourself in that kind of predicament for just a moment, to realize that no matter your opinion of the man who won a second term last night, your life is rather good at the moment, compared to that of far too many at the moment.
If the President, over the course of the next four years, wastes this golden opportunity to prove himself worthy of this second term, I will join the rest of you in condemnation of the man, but my prayers are that he acts in such a manner that he does indeed succeed in bringing some unity to this nation and at least in one way or another, improve his reputation with his fiercest critics.
ALPO: You are truly full of it.

And your expressed opinion of myself matters...why?
You Sir, are the poster child of pessimism. I would fall over dead if I were to read something positive from you, especially when it comes to the President.
You exude pessimism from your pores like a wino does alcohol. I think it safe to assume that you are destined to be eternally pathetic, friendless, and forever alone.
Barack Hussein Obama is this nation's President and he will be for roughly the next 1,533 days.
It would be far more preferable if you would accept that simple reality and wish the man total success. But, if you prefer to wallow in misery, think the worst, day in and day out, I suppose that will be okay too. Life will go on for the 50% of the people who voted for the man, with or without your approval or endorsement.
Your opinions of others are just as relevant.
Why are the servants happy? It's going to cost more for the rich guy to provide health care, making it way more appealing to fire the servants all together. And they're servants for a reason. Maybe they didn't pay attention in school and don't have the skill for anything else. Maybe they are so afraid to make their dream job happen a servant is all they can become. As in Aesops Fables, it's not the ants problem to take care of the grasshopper.
Up until last year, my health care plan from my employer required no surcharge to cover my spouse. Thanks to Obamacare, private employers that provide health insurance will be forced to pay for Obamacare through higher premiums, passing it on to the employees. In 2012 it cost me an additional $624 a year for the new surcharge. In 2013 it will go up to $1820 a year and the plan will be reduced to the basic medical plan with no option to upgrade. I shudder to think what 2014 brings.
I bet you have really sad birthdays...
This from the crowd that was all afire about freeloaders earlier this year.
In reality, the net cost to provide healthcare is cheaper. But somehow the idea that people still have to pay for it, that's anathema.
I wonder how this tracks with their other notion.
PS, Ants? I wonder how that Ant Queen would do without all the other members of the hive. Not so well. Good show looking down on other people because they don't have everything.
How is that condescension working out for you?
