What if Mitt Romney had won the election?

Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonist Clay Bennett prepared a cartoon for either outcome of the 2012 presidential election.

Here's the Romney cartoon:

I would have been under my desk as well. Frightening thought! But part of the nightmare did come true: the GOP is still in control of the House and girding from gridlock and sending the US over the edge.

I'd have been looking for the portal back to the real universe.

Either that or pinching myself to wake up from the nightmare.

Too funny! When Dems lose they sink into a deep depression and then try to analyze where they went wrong. When TEApublicans lose they riot and claim that there must have been fraud. A little self-analysis would serve the GOP well if they wish their party to survive.

Clay's got the sense of humor. He should recycle this one since that will be all who are employed as taxes increase next year.

You would prefer that we have massive tax cuts that Romney wanted instead?

Or whatever he called his shell game that somehow cut rates, eliminated deductions, kept revenue stable, and eliminated the deficit?

I am so glad this was not today's cartoon. I would have skipped anger and gone straight to numb if Romney had been elected. Can you imagine having to wait months to find out which of Romneys lies were true?... I am disappointed the outcome was not a more decisive. It is scary that so many voters cannot make well informed decisions and vote as prompted by the Ann Rand capitalism-is-better-than-democracy opinion shaping cable network... I had to peak - the expressions on the Fox anchors faces late last night was priceless!
