Victims identified in Thursday-night shooting in Chattanooga

The two victims from a shooting Thursday night have been identified.

James Gibson, 71, and Blake Reid, 21, were shot at 3007 Taylor St. a little after 8:30 p.m., said Chattanooga police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig.

Both are listed in stable condition in a local hospital, he said.

Hartwig said investigators believe Reid was the shooting’s target and Gibson was an innocent bystander struck by a stray bullet.

No arrests have been made.
