This week's events:

Who was faster than a zombie?

What: About 300 people competed in a Mud Run with Zombies, held at a Trenton, Ga., farm near Lookout Creek. The 5K run included 12 challenges in the obstacle course as well as surprise ambushes by zombies.

Benefits: The run raised $12,465, a portion of which was donated to United Way of Greater Chattanooga.

Highlights: The Zombie Mud Run included a kids race, sled pull, live music and prizes for the best costumes.

Auction of masks supports FACES

What: About 80 local artists and 22 youth created 100 masks and pieces of art for the annual FACES auction held at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.

Benefits: The auction raised approximately $40,000 for the craniofacial disorders group.
