The Cherokee Regional Library System serving Dade and Walker counties is offering patrons the option of "paying" overdue fines with a canned food item.
Donations will help restock food banks in Dade and Walker counties. One food can donation removes up to $1 in overdue fines.
Participating are Rossville Public Library, Chickamauga Public Library, LaFayette-Walker Public Library and Dade County Public Library.
The "Food for Fines" campaign begins today and will continue through Friday, Nov. 30.
