A Fort Oglethorpe city councilman was killed this morning at 8 in a car crash.
Councilman Eddie Stinnett, 67, appears to have had a heart attack before he hit a curb and crashed into a car on Battlefield Parkway, said Fort Oglethorpe Police Chief David Eubanks.

“This is just terrible,” Eubanks said.
His death comes the day after Stinnett and the rest of the council ousted fellow councilman Charles Sharrock after a four hour hearing on sexual harassment complaints.
