Jenna Adams-led Lee University trips Trevecca

For a change, someone other than Hollie German led the Lee University women's basketball team in scoring.

While German still had 15 points plus eight assists on a shooting off night, Jenna Adams was 10-of-12 from the floor, including 5-of-7 on 3-point shots, and scored 28 points in the Lady Flames' 71-65 win Tuesday night at Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville. Adams also made all three of her free throws as Lee improved to 5-1.

Her 3-pointer with 2:33 to go extended a one-point lead to 64-60, and her two foul shots at 1:32 made it 66-60. But Trevecca closed to within a point on a Christina Curtner 3 with 52 seconds left, and German made a free throw with 17 seconds to go, Adams rebounded the miss on the second shot and then hit a jumper. German added two free throws at 0:04.

Curtner scored 13 points and Heather Miller and Lauren Wasson added 10 each for the host Lady Trojans (3-4).

• Sewanee 87, Emory & Henry 59: At Sewanee, Brett Bouldin was 4-of-7 on 3-pointers in scoring 16 points as the Tigers rose to 3-0 and dropped the Wasps to 0-4. Nilan Hodge added 11 points in the win. Sewanee shot 50.4 percent from the field, compared to 37.7 percent for the visitors.

• Emory (w) 79, Sewanee 47: At Atlanta, the 16th-ranked team in NCAA Division III improved to 5-0 in administering the Tigers' first loss in three games. Hannah Lilly led five double-figure scorers for the Eagles with 18 points, while Savannah Morgan had 14 plus six assists. Those two were a combined 8-of-11 on 3-pointers. Paige Lowe had 11 points and Kayla Sewell contributed nine points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots for Sewanee, which committed 31 turnovers to 11 for Emory.
