Chattanooga firefighters stopped a tractor-trailer fire from spreading far in a large commercial building near Amnicola Highway on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters responded to 1200 Judd Road at about 5 p.m. and found flames consuming a tractor-trailer parked inside a diesel shop. Tires, fuel and fiberglass burned and created a huge cloud of smoke that could be seen from miles away, Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner said.
The firefighters got the blaze under control quickly and saved most of the large, metal building, Garner said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
