GALLATIN, Tenn. - A Gallatin judge said he will consider a request for a change of venue in the trial of a woman charged with killing her newborn twins.

WKRN-TV reports lawyers for Lindsey Lowe argued in court on Thursday that there had been "undue excitement" surrounding the case.

Prosecutors argued against the change, saying that there have been other Sumner County cases with intense media coverage where there was no problem selecting a local jury.

Judge Dee David Gay said he would take Lowe's request under advisement and consider it at the time of jury selection for the March trial.

Lowe told police she hid her pregnancy from everyone and killed the twins by smothering them after giving birth at home in September 2011.

She is currently out on bond.
