Comedian Joe Torry will do two shows Friday, Nov. 30, and Saturday, Dec. 1, at Mocha Restaurant & Music Lounge, 3116 Brainerd Road.
The multitalented comedian has appeared in the films "Motives," "Sprung" and "Tales From the Hood," though his most notable role may have been in "Poetic Justice" alongside the late Tupac Shakur and Janet Jackson.
His TV appearances include recurring roles on "Girlfriends" and "ER," as well as guest spots on "NYPD Blue" and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien."
Other projects include the release of his first book "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly," which will detail his journey through the entertainment industry, and a clothing line of male sportswear and undergarments he is developing.
He also established the Giving Back the Love Foundation, which has helped to mentor more than 30,000 children and families on proper health care.
Torry will perform at 6 and 10 each night. Tickets may be purchased at the venue or online at mocha jazz.net. Seating is $20 and $30 (VIP).
