'Most Wanted' man surrenders
A former city policeman who was a TBI Ten Most Wanted fugitive has turned himself in after two months of living in the East Tennessee woods.
Claiborne County Sheriff David Ray told The Knoxville News Sentinel that Michael Shane Baker surrendered at his mother's house early Monday. Baker was indicted by a Campbell County grand jury on 22 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and 22 charges of soliciting a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The former LaFollette city officer is charged with enticing a Georgia girl to send him sexually oriented photos of herself.
Ray said Baker had had little to eat and had been hallucinating.

Man arrested in son's stabbing
A Canton man was arrested Sunday, accused of stabbing his son at the family's home in Cherokee County.
The stabbing happened Sunday afternoon, Canton police Detective Candy Worthy said. Anthony Lamar Johnson Jr., 25, was stabbed by his father, 53-year-old Anthony Lamar Johnson Sr., during an argument, Worthy said.
The elder Johnson then drove his son to Northside Hospital-Cherokee. Police were called, but the elder Johnson left before officers arrived, Worthy said.
He was found at a motel in Holly Springs, Ga., charged with aggravated battery and taken to the Cherokee County Jail.

Alabamians pay near-lowest taxes
State, city and county governments in Alabama collected fewer tax dollars per resident than any other state except Idaho in fiscal 2010.
The Birmingham News reports that figures from the Census Bureau show Alabama at $2,779 per resident, while Idaho was $10 lower at $2,769. The national average was $4,112 per person.
Alabama's state, city and county governments collected nearly $13.3 billion in sales, income taxes, fuel taxes, property taxes and other levies in fiscal 2010. The figure would have been nearly $6.4 billion higher if Alabama was at the national average.

Flu shots set for Friday
The Gilmer County Health Department is having a drive-through flu shot clinic Friday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Ellijay on McCutchen Street.
The regular seasonal flu vaccine is $20, and the high-dose shot is $50.
