The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga has named a new president and chief executive officer.

Janet Dunn comes to Chattanooga with more than 25 years of experience with the YMCA. She last worked as the chief operating officer for the Family YMCA of Greater Augusta, Ga., where she supervised the daily operations of 13 branches, three centers and a residential camp.

In her last role, Dunn was in charge of 60 full-time and 800 part-time staff.

"We chose Janet because of her 25 years of experience and accomplishments within individual YMCA branches, as well as with the YMCA of the USA as an organization," said Tony Killen, chief volunteer officer for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga. "We are confident that Janet will be a positive leader for our staff, our members and the organization."

As COO in Augusta, Dunn helped increase the organization's membership revenue and annual campaign support.

"I am honored to have been given the opportunity to be part of this great community and to continue to promote the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga as a leader in youth development, healthy living and social responsibly," Dunn said.
