2 attempted arsons reported on Igou Ferry Road

Two attempted arsons using Molotov cocktails were reported this week, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 2, a homemade fire bomb was found in the garage of a residence at 7426 Igou Ferry Road, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Janice Atkinson in a news release. Someone apparently threw the bomb through the window of a door to the garage between 10 p.m. and 9:30 a.m., she said

A second fire bomb using similar tactics was reported the next day from the same address, she said.

Both attempted arsons were unsuccessful, causing minor damage and no injuries were reported, according to Atkinson.

Anyone with information about the attempted arsons can contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 423-209-8940.
