A combination of nails, screws and tacks led to dozen of cars with flat tires on Dodds Avenue and Rossville Boulevard over the weekend.

Chattanooga police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig said in a news release that the debris was either placed intentionally or carelessly.

The debris even flattened the tires on three police patrol cars, he said.

Reports of police spikes being left in the road after a pursuit are not true, Hartwig said.
