Chattanooga police and Crime Stoppers seek suspect

Chattanooga police and Crime Stoppers are looking for a man who robbed a Chattanooga gas station at gunpoint on Aug. 28.

Just after 7 a.m., the suspect — a black male about 5 foot 6 inches tall -- approached the Mystic Market clerk at 2413 Fourth Ave. and demanded money from the cash register. The man was holding a long-barreled gun covered in a white cloth. After getting the money, he fled the scene.

The suspect wore a white cloth to cover his face, as well as a red plaid shirt and dark pants. The weapon may have a pistol grip and sling, police said.

Anyone with information on this robbery can call Crime stoppers at 423-698-3333. The call is confidential and could make you eligible for up to $1,000.
