Sicelo Buthelezi's' score from a Lwandisco Gonya assist midway through the first half held up as a 1-0 victory Saturday night for the NAIA's No. 2-ranked men's soccer team, Lindsey Wilson, against visiting Bryan College.
Bryan, tied for 15th in the coaches' poll, was outshot 11-4 in falling to 10-2-1. The Columbia, Ky., hosts are 13-1.
The Bryan women rallied to win 2-1 at St. Andrews in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match. Allyse Reece and Lauren Gocke scored in the 66th and 76th minutes and Stephanie Gagnon made 14 saves for the Lady Lions (3-10-1, 2-5-1), who were outshot 24-10.
• At Athens, Tenn., Tennessee Wesleyan swept visiting Virginia Intermont in an AAC doubleheader, taking the women's game 10-0 and pulling out a 3-2 men's win on three Danny Smith goals from John Carrier assists after Intermont led 2-0. Smith's scores came at 59:06, 85:21 and 86:58 for the Bulldogs (8-83-2, 6-1), and Clark Lydon made five saves.
Deanna Dawson, Samaira Khan (two), Kimberly Key (two), Madelyn Thomas, Britten Fandrich, Ashlie Reagan and Tatum McMahon scored for the Lady Bulldogs (8-6, 6-2), who also had an own goal. Abigal Fannin assisted on the first two , and Thomas, Megan McDonald and Kelsey Hall added assists for TWC, which had advantages of 38-0 in shots and 19-0 in corner kicks.
• At Montgomery, Ala., the NAIA's second-ranked Lee Lady Flames needed junior All-American Leah Fortune's overtime goal to edge Faulkner 3-2 in Southern States play. Christina Bovbjerg and Fortune earlier had tying scores for Lee (10-1, 8-0). Faulkner is 7-7-1, 4-3-1. The Lee men lost 2-0.
Also at Montgomery, Covenant's Lady Scots beat Huntingdon 2-0 in Great South Athletic Conference play. Kathryn Allison in the first half and Anne C. Strawbridge in the second scored unassisted goals for the Lady Scots (11-2-1, 6-0).
• On Lookout Mountain, Georgia Gwinnett trailed by two goals before edging the host Covenant men's team 3-2 on Tom Butler's 20-yard shot 9:42 into overtime. Ibrahima Sissoko had the previous scores for the 8-2-1 visitors, after Noah Wiersema converted a Garrison Dale cross at 5:02 and Ian Meredith scored unassisted at 32:30 for the Scots (7-7-1). Shuler Polk made nine saves in defeat.
• At Florida College, Tennessee Temple's women lost 2-0 and the Temple men fell 4-0.
