NASHVILLE — Nearly one in eight of Tennessee’s registered voters took advantage of early voting through Monday, Day 5 of the process, Secretary of State Tré Hargett said today.
On Monday, 103,642 people cast their ballots early, bringing the five-day total to 491,575 of the state’s estimated 4 million registered voters, Hargett’s office said today as early voting went into its six day.
“Voter turnout continues to exceed expectations,” Hargett said in a news release. “Voters continue to avoid long Election Day lines by voting early.”
Early voting for federal and state contests on the Nov. 6 ballot continues through Thursday, Nov. 1. Voters with questions regarding the locations and hours of early voting should contact the local election commission office for the county in which they reside.
