Former principal Tom McCullough enters race for City Council

Former Signal Mountain High School/Middle School Principal Tom McCullough announced Monday he officially is entering the race for the Chattanooga City Council's District 1 seat.

McCullough is trying to replace Councilwoman Deborah Scott, who announced last week she would not run for a second term.

"I have devoted my entire adult life to community service, primarily through public education,'' McCullough said. "I hope to continue serving the Chattanooga community but in a different capacity through city government."

McCullough worked for 42 years in education. He is facing Matthew Ware, president and agent of Greater Chattanooga Insurance, in the March 2013 election.
