Plastex Matting Inc., a 50-year-old maker of matting products in Fort Payne, Ala., has acquired the matting business of one of its distributors, Tepromark International Inc., in Skokie, Ill.

Tepromark, a staple in the American flooring and matting industry for more than 40 years, was formerly a distributor of Plastex's matting and flooring products. Plastex will service all existing and new customer inquiries for the matting ranges, including Teproflow, Teprohold and Gridlock, initially from its manufacturing facility in Alabama.

Originating in the United Kingdom in 1962 as a general plastic extrusion manufacturer, Plastex expanded into the United States with Plastex Matting in 1997.
