Charges are pending against the 32-year-old driver who crashed head-on into another vehicle Thursday night on Highway 58 in Meigs County, killing one woman, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Stephanie Delashmitt, 32, was driving north in the southbound lane when her 2008 Nissan slammed into a vehicle driven by Virginia Banther, 60, according to the THP accident report.

Banther's car was knocked backward over the guardrail and Delashmitt slid off the road, according to the report.

Banther died in the crash.

Police gave Delashmitt drug and alcohol tests. The accident report said she did not have her headlights on.

Four other people were riding in Delashmitt's car, including three children and 26-year-old Erin Nelson. All four were injured in the crash, and none of the children were wearing seat belts, according to the report.
