A 43-year-old man from Flat Rock, Ala., has been charged with possession of methamphetamine after a deputy tried to arrest him on an outstanding warrant.

Bobby Joe Dunn was arrested Wednesday in the parking lot of a bank in Stevenson, Ala., according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

Dunn, who was wanted on a outstanding warrant for probation violation, was spotted by the deputy and ran, the release said. As he fled, he tossed something under a nearby car and, when recovered, it was found to contain about 3 grams of meth, the release said.

Dunn is charged on the outstanding probation violation warrant and possession of controlled substances. Bond is set for $5,000 for the possession charge but no bond is set for the probation violation, the release said.
