Man charged in fatal stabbing of neighbors

NASHVILLE - A Nashville man accused of fatally stabbing three members of a neighbor's family has been charged with criminal homicide.

Police believe 41-year-old Craig Garber killed a female neighbor, her son and her mother inside their home early Sunday. The woman's 9-year-old daughter was able to flee the house and call for help.

When officers arrived at the home, a bloodied Garber answered the door and told officers to "just kill me."

He was suffering from stab wounds that police say were self-inflicted.

Garber currently is hospitalized in stable condition. He will be jailed when his medical condition allows.

Killed were 48-year-old Michelle Pinkowski, 14-year-old Jonathan Culpepper and 71-year-old Marylea Jordan.
