CSO Chorus sets auditions Sept. 21

The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera Chorus will hold auditions for the 2012-2013 season on Sept. 21, starting at 6 p.m., in the Tivoli Theatre's dance studio.

The volunteer chorus includes professional and amateur musicians from the tri-state area. This season, the chorus will join the CSO for performances at a Veteran's Day concert in November, Home for the Holidays concert in December and the Verdi "Requiem" in March.

Darrin Hassevoort, an associate professor of music at Chattanooga State Community College and the Interim Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts, is the CSO director of choruses.

Hassevoort said singers should be prepared to sing two contrasting selections, with one preferably in a foreign language, though not mandatory. An accompanist will be provided.

For more information or to schedule an audition, contact CSO Chorus Administrator Mary Lynn Wilson at 304-1535 or email
