Ringgold's water department and the Catoosa County Fire Department will begin flow tests on every city fire hydrant starting Monday and continuing over the next few weeks.
According to a news release, crews will start flushing fire hydrants about 9 p.m. daily. It will take several hours to record pressure and flow data. That information is used by ISO, the agency that rates cities' levels of fire protection, which in turn affects homeowners' insurance rates.
Residents may notice their water looks foggy or brown during the testing. If that happens, open taps to flush the lines for a few minutes. If the problem continues, call Ringgold City Hall at 706-935-3061.
