The 21-year-old woman shot and killed in East Lake Courts last night has been identified as Kenyeta Tramble, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

The shooting happened at 10:19 p.m. Saturday at 2213 East 25th Street Court.

A male suspect was last seen running east. He approached the woman's residence just before the shooting and was wearing a bandana, said Master Patrol Officer Nathan Hartwig.

The suspect was described as a slender black male about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He may be wearing a red and white T-shirt.

The shooting doesn't appear to be a random act, Hartwig said.

Nearby residents, who declined to be identified out of fear of retaliation, said the woman had a baby boy.

"She was always a happy person; she didn't bother anybody," said a 34-year-old woman at a nearby residence.

The woman reported hearing only one shot.

The homicide is Chattanooga's fifteenth in 2012.
