One dead in Meigs County after argument

MEIGS COUNTY, TN -- An argument between two Meigs County residents escalated into a shooting Saturday night that left one dead and the other in custody.

Meigs County deputies were called out to a Burkett's Chapel Road residence around 10 p.m., where they took a suspect into custody.

Officials are investigating and said they would release further information Sunday evening.
