Suspect arrested after One-Eleven restaurant break-in in LaFayette, Ga.

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

One-Eleven, a restaurant in a restored historic building in downtown LaFayette, Ga., is closed today after an overnight break-in.

LaFayette Police Chief Bengie Clift said this morning that an "insignificant" amount of money was stolen and police had arrested a suspect.

"He's in the back of the police car right now," Clift said at 11:50 a.m.

Security cameras inside the restaurant were damaged, but police identified the suspect through leads, the chief said.

"Their camera system got jacked up really bad," Clift said. "[We] just worked it the old-fashioned way."

Clift declined to give the suspect's name this morning.
