University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior defensive end Josh Williams answers three quick questions about Saturday's Southern Conference opener against No. 18 Appalachian State:

1. What does UTC need to do defensively to slow the Mountaineers?

Williams: "They like to stretch the field and use their athletes, similar to how they usually are. They've got great athletes and the thing we've got to do is use our speed - we've got great team speed - to get to the ball and always be there when they try to hit their cut-back lanes."

2. You're UTC's all-time sack leader, yet you haven't gotten one yet this season. Is this the week?

Williams: "This is definitely going to be the week I make that next move to the next level and get sacks. It's just been a lot of close calls and a bit frustrating. ... Sometimes it's 50 percent skill and 50 percent luck."

3. How much would it mean for to you to finally beat App State?

Williams: "First off, it would mean winning our first SoCon game. We want to go undefeated in the SoCon, but on a more personal level, App State has been a thorn in my side for the past three years. We feel like we've gotten so close to beating them so many times and have just come up short, so a big goal of mine and all our seniors is to finally beat App State."
