Two men arrested who police say killed a 65-year-old Red Bank man during a robbery in July will now face the grand jury for a possible indictment.

Red Bank City Judge Johnny Houston found probable cause after an hour-long hearing Monday night in which the estranged wife of one of the defendants testified that Segmund Boyd told her shortly after the robbery he'd taken part and would turn himself in.

Crystal Williams, Boyd's wife, also said Adrian Gustus, Boyd's co-defendant who she says shot Winston Gant in the leg, twice threatened to kill her and her family if she told police.

Williams was with Gant, the father-in-law of Rep. Gerald McCormick, R-Chattanooga, on the morning of July 28 when she says Gustus and a man wearing a mask approached them as she and Gant left Gant's home to go to Walmart.

Gustus and Boyd, who wore the mask, she testified, made her get on the ground, took her purse and punched Gant in the face several times when he wouldn't lay on the ground.

Williams said she saw a handgun in Gustus hand and heard a gunshot then looked up to see Gustus and Boyd flee. She went to Gant who said, "My leg," and gave her his house keys to go inside and call 911.

Gant later died from his wounds, according to a medical examiner's report.
