Two children initially reported dead in a Bedford County house fire that killed their grandparents are now listed as endangered and missing after their bodies were not found in the ashes of their home.

The fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. Sunday and took the lives of Leon and Mollie McClaran, the children's grandparents. The Bedford County Sheriff's Office initially reported that Chloie Leverette, 9, and Gage Daniel, 7, were also dead in the fire.

But on Wednesday, the State Fire Marshal's Office concluded that the children did not die in the fire.
